Turbo Tax is the only one for me!

I have used Turbo Tax for over 30 years and it has never failed me. This year is the first time I've had to call with a question and the techs working the phones couldn't be more helpful. And I called on Easter night when no one wants to be working. I got my answer on how to handle getting the dates to show various from the tech that helped me fairly quickly and very politely.
What's great about it: Easy to use and asks all the right questions.
What's not so great: I had some problems getting "various" in some securities sales.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I will recommend turbotax to any and all, and I will use it again. Only complaint was that when itemizing the stat and local income tax deduction there are two choices. I chose the larger one, but it showed the lesser amount. I did go to help and someone reported the same thing. On the final copy the correct amount was listed. that was my case as well, but it was very frustrating until i figured that out.
What's great about it: It is very convenient, easy to follow step by step. It is easy to go back and check information that was input.
What's not so great: Did not like that the itemized state income tax deduction showed the lower amount but did put higher ant. on final copy

Good but...a little tuning would help

I have three concerns:
1) As mentioned above there are always a few navigational changes from year to year that are frustrating when you try to map the current year to the last year. I realize that tax code items will change but it would be nice if you could somehow note major navigational changes.

2) Reporting foreign income and claiming foreign taxes paid continues to be a gray area. Need some attention or "help" here.
3) Not all forms needed to file are included in TT. Some foreign based items require separate filing of specific forms that are referenced in TT but not available in TT.
What's great about it: Overall, easy to use and navigate.
What's not so great: Subtle changes in navigation from year to year slow the process.

Turbo Tax - Great Help

The way Turbo Tax s structured helps you avoid having to spend hours researching the IRS web site/ IRS pubs. Turbo
has done this for you and helps to comply with new IRS
regulations even if you had not known of the changes.

Two complaints:
1. Even if you have only a few dollars invested in a mutual
fund, you now have to use the more expensive Turbo Tax
package.

2. The ability to down the prior year data into your new year
return is very helpful. However, the part that lets you
review the prior year's charity deductions could would be
more helpful if they could appear in alphabetical order.

Over all I would score it a 98. By the way, I'm a retired IRS employee and have used Turbo Tax for 25 years.

More needs to be done

I have been using Turbo Tax Premiere since 1995. I'm quite familiar how it works. The program by itself is solid and never had any issue installing the software that I can remember. I would like Turbo Tax to improve the help sections because sometimes the help sections are not clear and need to google to find out what I'm looking for...
What's great about it: solid program.
What's not so great: Not enough explanations on forms

So Simple

Filing an extension requires sending the form via snail mail. Because of this, there is no confirmation that the IRS actually received the form.
What's great about it: Makes the process simple and easy
What's not so great: Does not electronically transmit extensions
