Good but not Great

Problem with filing NJ Disability Payments. NJ does not provide a W-2 for Disability Payments and Turbo Tax does not provide instructions on where to enter the payments as income or where to enter the FICA and Medicare Taxes withheld from these payments. I hope I got it right! Took a lot of research on the web (Time consuming). Taxes withheld information had to be entered directly on forms with no instructions from Turbo Tax.
Also had a problem with entering info on Safe Deposit Box Rentals. Turbo Tax does not guide you through this problem either.

What's great about it: 95%+ of the info was easy to enter
What's not so great: Some big time consuming holes caused problems

Easy mostly but confusing in places

1. TurboTax did not import my own 2013 tax information from H& R Block's software, but did import a second person's information.
2. Instructions on donations of stock to charities are confusing--could use the same words in instructions as in the form seen on screen.

turbo tax is awesome

we have been using turbo tax for years and it is awesome. It is so comprehensive and we are able to look at all different scenarios. There is no need to use an accountant and I know for a fact that some accountants use this!
What's great about it: very comprehensive
What's not so great: none that I can think of
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Using Turbo Tax for more than 10 years. Saves time by downloading broker transactions and E-File is very useful.

Pro and Con

Re my "Con". In a major topic like "Wages and Income", when you have finished a subtopic like Dividends on 1099-DIV if you do not click "Next" the program usually sends you back to the topic of the major topic instead of the top of the section: in this case "Interest and Dividends. This ALWAYS happens when you are reviewing the subtopics, which you do because often if you answered not applicable, or skipped a subsection, it still remains blue highlighted so that you don't know that you already completed it. Really aggravating.
And I got one warning that I had two identical income items for identical amounts, but the program would not tell me what and I could never find them. Final review never mentioned them so hopefully all is okay.
But this is certainly the best version yet. Good job!
What's great about it: Much improved ability to delete a section and reenter. Easier than ever to follow.
What's not so great: Continually takes you back to the first topic in the section, not the sub section.

Great Tool to Finish Up TAX Declaration by Myself

TurboTax is a great tool to finish up Tax Declaration by myself. I used to use a TAX professional. Compared to it, the cost is almost a half of it. The step-by-step operation with end users' information depository & Help makes my work easy & smooth.
What's great about it: Easy to stop in the middle of work
What's not so great: Other users' info may not be enough if you buy it very early
