2014 Taxes

Have used Turbo Tax for many years but last year had a CPA do the return due to some inherited property. I entered the depreciation for assets based on what he had previously filed and was able to come up with the correct calculations but because Turbo Tax didn't agree with the method it would not let me efile even though it let me override their method. I finally deleted all the worksheets and entered the amount manually on the appropriate form and was allowed to file. However, I feel if you can override it should not prevent you from filing.
What's great about it: Easy to complete forms
What's not so great: When override is allowed you may not be able to efile your reture

Simple DIY Tax Prep

I've used Turbo Tax for nearly 15 years. Each year it gets easier to use. I look forward to doing my taxes. Love the fact you can e-file or mail in your return. You don't need to be a tax expert although if you have a complicated tax year I do recommend an expert, which I did one year. I highly recommend Turbo Tax to everyone. Turbo Tax has many versions such that everyone can benefit from easy 1040 to the complicated Home & Business version. How great is that? Then use the chat boxes in case you need extra help. Do I need to say anything more?
What's great about it: Led by a series of questions with lots of explanations if you clicked on a link.
What's not so great: None.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
