Turbo Tax is a life saver, I've used it for years

I believe Turbo Tax gets easier and easier. I was dreading it because I knew I would have to go to Premier this year. I thought it would be harder to understand but it was just as easy as the Deluxe. I had a question so I called the help line and John was so professional and very kind with this 80 year old woman. He took me through it step by step. So thank you Turbo Tax for making a difficult task so easy all these years.

I have used turbo tax for the past several years and have always been pleased with the process and ease of using it. This year however, I had to purchase a more expensive (next step up) version and then some of the questions were very confusing, especially for K-1 forms. I am not sure whether or not I will use it again next year. Also, it was hard to distinguish between the different types of insurance on some of the questions.
What's great about it: imported data from last year's forms and from investment companies
What's not so great: Some of the questions were confusing and/or did not apply to my situation

Cant find my state

I have used Turbo Tax for years and years. Two years ago, Turbo Tax told me I did not have to file a state return. So I didn't. Maryland did not feel the same way and after quite a bit of work and correspondence, I am ok with them now. Last year Turbo Tax again said I did not have to file a state return, but I knew I did. So I completed the state form and sent it in. This year again, it said I did not have to file a state return. I know I do, so I tried to file it. Turbo tax does not see the Maryland software and wants me to buy it again. WHY???? I had to upgrade to Premier to do my rental property info. I never had to do that before. Paying for state tax twice is a real problem for me. After all these years, I may have to go to a different software. Not seeing my MD tax concerns me that other things are not correct.
What's great about it: Easy to do the complicated foreign income part
What's not so great: wants me to pay for state two times - cant see it on my computer?

Capital gains on house sale

It is quite confusing if the sales expenses are included in
the cost basis of the house.
It appears as though the capital gains do not include the sales expenses, and are therefore over stated.

Great Experience

I bought H&R Block for the first time this year. It was a pain. I had always been with TurboTax but the issue early in the year when some states would not accept it caused me to change. Using there software was a pain. I went out and bought TurboTax after the states approved them again. It was worth the money. I feel confident my taxes are now done properly.
