Worked for Me. Just One Glitch

The program worked well for us. There was just one glitch. It kept asking for an amount on return form 1099-R Box 9a. However there was never a 9a box on our forms. The help section solved this glitch for us.
What's great about it: Easy, imported from last year

Wow does Turbo Tax need to step it up on help!

When it comes to the health form, an example of how to handle the full time student over 24, working, and how the share of cost gets put into the form. There was no real support for what the form was requiring. I had to go to other sources to find the answer. Also I am doing amended returns and the support is not there to help when the old tax return file can't be located. I entered the old forms in 2012 turbo tax, then I want to amend them. It had me re-(fake) file and then do an amendment. The state return was not (fake) filed so I have to redo state fake filing to amend the state . All the time I just need to change one line on the 1040 to do the amendment.
This year I also had trouble with one Sch K. I finally deleted and re-entered that form. Second time it was fine.

What's great about it: Great for getting the tax forms done!
What's not so great: Where is the real support for the health form?

MASS-ive Fail

Have used TTax for years as a Florida resident. Moved to Massachusetts in late October, so my first experience with using TTax state returns (FL doesn't have income tax). I was NOT impressed.
First, it acted like I had to fill out a Florida return (even went through the motions of downloading it), but Florida doesn't have an income tax. So the whole thing was just for show and tells me after some hassle that I don't have to file.
Second, even though it knew my move dates it put ALL my dividend, interest and capital gain income on the MA form and subjected it to taxation. It never prompted me to designate which were earned in FL and which in MA. I had to dig through the forms and the MA tax instructions to find out how to do this. This is EXACTLY what I buy TTax to avoid.
Very disappointing.
What's great about it: Allows us to keep all our return info electronically so harder to lose
What's not so great: Very poor handling of our move to Massachusetts

It asked detailed question for what information it wanted and where to find it. That way I felt pretty comfortable with how I filed the taxes. Could have let you know before you purchased the software the you had to pay to file the state taxes. Would have still bought the product, just would have been good to know.
What's great about it: detailed questions for what is needed.
What's not so great: Didn't realize you had to pay for filing state taxes

This program is easy to follow. I love the step by step instructions and the fact you can stop, review and go back to it later.
What's great about it: step by step instructions
What's not so great: had to upgrade to Premier even tho Deluxe said it covered what I needed. I thought I could deduct the expenses for this.
