Hard To Check Accuracy of Turbo Tax Result

It is nearly impossible to determine if Turbo Tax accurately applied income and costs. This is particularly true with the K-1 information. I had partnership sales that had losses as much as $2800 but the submissions indicated 0 profit or loss. Was the loss entered elsewhere? Not allowed? impossible to say. It is also extremely difficult to track real estate loss allowances. I am tempted to paper file next year, just so that I know all the information is handled properly.
What's great about it: Easy and quick to file
What's not so great: Irritating to pay for a state tax program and then pay to submit

easy to file

i feel that when you come to the part where you claim a child, that part prints out all 30 slots of children you do not have.. When you are only claiming one child,it should only print the one page. I think that needs to be fixed in your next programming..but other wise your product is awesome

TurboTax Wow!

Longtime user of TurboTax products, and they never disappoint. Easy to use and complex enough to handle our annoying and ridiculous Tax Code. Really liked all the help files and easy access to external tax information.
What's great about it: Fast and easy with step by step instructions.
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

That hassle in the news earlier this year about having to buy Premier to file certain forms was very un-customer-friendly. Thanks for the free upgrade, though.

Struggled this year

State review said I didn't owe an underpayment penalty, but one was included on the return.
Federal was very difficult this year to enter a 1065 K-1 of a PTP.
Federal Review said no errors, but would not e-file because of a problem (F 4385 & F 4562 & worksheet) with a vehicle, not sold, but not used for business in the current year.

Makes Tax Time a Piece of Cake

The program itself is really exceptional in that it makes a complicated return easy to complete correctly. It is not fast, since I ask it to walk me through all the steps, but it appears to be accurate and correctly shows the information that I input, and I learn a lot along the way. Calculations also appear to be correct, and the tax return prep is faster and more complete that when I do it myself. Thanks, TurboTax!
My troubles were in the beginning and at the end of return preparation. I needed Technical Support to send me a download of the program because my CD wouldn't open (which she did, and stayed on the line to make sure it was working properly before letting me go.) Could have been a bad copy on the CD. And at the end, when I was done with the returns, I kept getting a message that I was not online (which wasn't true) and I could not complete the E-filing of my returns until the next day.
What's great about it: walks me through all the categories on the return. Has links that open an information box when I need it.
What's not so great: Program was a little buggy, as it is each year. Not truly a seamless experience.

2014 taxes

Customer service people were great and got me through at least two problems I had so I can't say enough about both people I talked with on two separate calls, Thanks to them again!
What's great about it: Walked me through all the deductions and made evaluation about Standardized deduction.
