last year you supported reasonably well the normally available screen readers. this year you no longer are compatible. this makes it very difficult for visual impaired to ewes the porduct using generally available screen reading aids turbotax is going downhill as to being friendly to the visually challenged.
What's not so great: not userfriendly to voice screen readers - window navagator or nvda

Fast to complete, if you have used a previous year's edition to file. Structure of forms entry closely mirrors the physical (paper) forms. Need more clarity regarding e-fileing, i.e. what it is going to cost for both the Fed and State forms, BEFORE you select to e-file. Luckily, backtracking is possible but why interject worry into an already tedious and disagreeable task.
What's great about it: Good interface and logical order to navigation.
What's not so great: should allow import of Sales Tax data rather than single entry for each datum.

I have been doing my taxes with turbo tax since 1994. th si is the first year of any issues.
What's great about it: I liked the older version where I could select my forms
What's not so great: having to upgrade to primere and it was free
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Nice but complex

TT this year was less helpful. For instance it did not point out that I was paying a late penalty nor did it suggest how it could be reduced (which I did dramatically manually). Form K-1 entry was a series of catch-22 errors forcing me to enter several worksheets for the same investment and I had to test the impact of this by trial and error. TT should be able to handle automatically the K-1 data submitted without work around procedures by me (that is what computers are for),
What's great about it: automatically handles most situations
What's not so great: complex scenarios require work-arounds that have uncertain outcomes.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

2014 TurboTax Fed + MI Premier package
on April 7, 2015

Overall a very well thought out package for preparing taxes. The Premier also features ability to handle rental income and Investment data.
As noted in "Cons" it would be nice for the software to remember the security name for repeated transactions in the 1099-DIV section. This would make things a LOT quicker for multiple entries that have different dates. .
Other than that issues, the package worked smoothly and it only took about 3 hours time to do the tax year and file.
What's great about it: Seems thorough and allows quick backtracking to check work in progress
What's not so great: Fed section for 1099-DIV Box D makes you repeat name of security for EVERY trade
Pros: I bought or sold investments
