Continues to be Great

Once the issue was addressed and upgrade to Premier was completed, the process was smooth as always. It's important that you put the features back into the Premium edition as promised.
Long time, very satisfied customer.
What's great about it: Simple to use, thorough, full coverage
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Great except for Premier Surprise

Not changing the Deluxe packaging to clearly note what it wasn't including was low! Simply raise the price and/or make the product change very clear.
Even the ice cream companies made the package smaller so that you couldn't help realize it wasn't the same; it was less.
Intuit hid it!
What's great about it: Just great as always!
What's not so great: Changing "Deluxe" without making it obivious!

Used TurboTax for years

Spent a lot of time figuring out how to handle Tax this year. Plan to use TurbTax next year. Comparatively my tax should be a breeze even if i'm an old guy. Think how to make it easier with Lief Insurance. Annuities and LTC. Give Examples in the Help Menu on how to enter Multi-periods, Reimbursement and Per Diem. Still having Form 8853 nightmares. I also like to "E" file. "Life Changes" need a Box for lost a Spouse or Significant Other!

What's great about it: I like to do my own tax and TroboTax has made it easier.
What's not so great: i lost my spouse ;last year - Hard year and hard Tax year. Could be better in Life, Annuities and LTC Multi F8853s

I had a high yield mutual fund for 5 or 6 years with dividends used to reinvest in the fund. When turbo tax was used to determine capital gains it rounded off all of the purchases although they were out to 3 or more decimals of stock purchased. Needless to say all of the calculation were in error. Why does turbo tax round off all of the purchases? Thank goodness that I could download a txt file from the broker to my tax return. I just cannot trust turbo tax to calculate capital gains for any stocks now. Why does turbo tax round off stock purchases? Disappointing to say the least.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Would hate to have to fill our all of the forms
What's not so great: Problem with sale of Mutual funds

TurboTax goof!
on April 7, 2015

Every year the internal revenue service sends out the estimated payment envelopes. Every year TurboTax prints the estimated federal payment vouchers, and the IRS address on the voucher never matches the IRS address window on the IRS envelopes, so I have to create new envelopes, so that I can submit my estimated payments.
That is pretty incompetent, considering what I pay for TurboTax.

Thoughts on 2014 TT Premier
on April 7, 2015

I have used TT Deluxe for quite a few years and this is the first using Premier. TT isn't very difficult to use, HOWEVER, it does have some shortcomings. While performing the return reviews, it may indicate that it has found an error that needs correcting. Great! But there was little information as to exactly which form it was referring when there were multiple 1099 forms involved. That required some sleuthing to determine. Also, one 1099 hard copy contained a zero (0) in a particular field. TT would not let me proceed until I had entered a "0" in the same field. I had, erroneously, left it blank since most of the other fields were also zeros and I left them blank without any error messages. Overall, though, TT will remain my tax preparation tool for the future.
What's great about it: See Review
What's not so great: See Review
Pros: I bought or sold investments
