Good product, though previously better

I still like turbo tax but if it continues to get more in depth or difficult for the layman (me) I will probably just use regular forms and save the cash. I am right on the cusp, this year seemed much more difficult to do than previous years to the point I felt like I was doing regular IRS forms. The draw of turbotax is that it doesn't seem like filling out all the forms manually. This year it felt like it.
What's great about it: The history, use it every year so the prefilling is great
What's not so great: seems like the program is bulking up. Used to be easier

What's not so great: Hard to get back a forth - not too clear on how to get to specific forms and just make corrections.

I like having turbotax. I am able to fill the forms on my own without being prompted. Its only the little glitches that make me work.

Not as happy as previously

While I've used Turbo Tax for several years and have been happy, the "change" in availability was frustrating, more costly (had to use a different package# , and, one of my usual download firms was NOT downloadable. #altho 2 of the 3 firms were). It had been previously. THAT did not leave me dancing with delight...In addition, of course, it cost me more to file my state return. It's just been swell, doncha think:? I understand next year will be better and I'll probably use this package again, but someone within the depths of TurboTax had a REALLY bad idea when the initial changes were made.

What's great about it: Downloads on SOME (not all) information re: finances
What's not so great: Had to switch to Premiere (more costly + inc in St e mailing)

2014 Review

I like the step by step process. I also like the review and the flags. On the state income tax (Colorado) I was confused by the Pera Annuity section and questions and the deductible amount.
I have no information about the way the new healthcare law affects me. I am on Medicare, so I believe I will be ok, but wasted an hour trying to get at the health care section... no no avail.
What's great about it: My info was all loaded, so I just had to add new figures
What's not so great: Never did get into the health care section, so I am a little worried that it will cause me problems down the road

Great, but two areas to improve

Stock Option Exercises: my benefits broker does not issue a 1099B, but rather a summary of activity. I had to go to on-line help to figure out how to get prompted by an interview. I suggest there be a question added in the main interview to lead to the special handling steps.
NY State taxes - I kept trying to figure out how to check direct deposit, then on-line help said wait until you file. That should be clarified in the tax payment interview.
What's great about it: Comprehensive and, for the most part, intuitive
What's not so great: Two areas in the interview need improvement - Stock Option Exercise 1099 and Stete Direct Deposit

Difficult with out last years return

Need to fix royalty for regular Corporations
What's great about it: Was able to compleate from 2013 printed copy
What's not so great: Royality is only for S-Corps not for Reg Corps
