Depreciation Confusion

No explanation of depreciation options or how calculation was done; straightline method should divide cost by # years but Turbo Tax does not calculate expense that way and no explanation regarding how expense amount was calculated is included with details.
What's not so great: Calculations do not make sense

TurboTax Pros and Cons

I've used TurboTax for years and never been audited. I object to them requiring an upgraded program for investments. K-1 forms are confusing in the program with little help to no help in figuring out what is needed. Only figured it out after consulting with my son who is a CFA. Turbo tax has raised the rates for e-filing state tax forms which is unjustified. I'm going to look at what other programs are offering to decide if I will continue with TurboTax.
What's great about it: Cheaper than an accountant
What's not so great: Confusing entry for K-1s

2014 Taxes

I have a couple of items;
I bought Turbo Tax Delux., but couldn't use it so had to upgrade to priemier.and they were going to refund me $25.00.
I haven't seen it.
When I went to efile I had additional charges. Why???
Don't remember them from previous years.

Nice and easy

What's great about it: Questions were easy to understand and referenced the forms I'd need

Easy to Use

I liked using TurboTax. It was very efficient and helped me with my tax needs. I was done in two evenings where usually I'm working 2 - 3 weeks with paper forms.
One dislike (besides the Con I listed): I'm not sure what Intuit means by "free state return" when Intuit makes you pay to e-file your state return. When Intuit says "free" they should mean "free." Otherwise, TurboTax is a fine piece of software.
What's great about it: Questions were direct and the "Explain This" feature is great!
What's not so great: Have to review the return everytime you go into it.

Much easier than working with my CPA

This year my return was more complicated than prior years because of an out-of-state income property sale. Yet, before finalizing my numbers, TurboTax allowed me to review them repeatedly over several days. Doing those repeated adjustments and reviews was not so easy during the 22-years I worked with my CPA. Now my prep-costs are much less, too.
NOTE: this was my 5th year using TurboTax
What's great about it: Walked me through every step again.
What's not so great: none

Easy and efficient

Been using Turbo Tax for years and I'm still loving the simplicity of it.
What's great about it: Simple, straight forward, efficient
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
