What's not so great: Having to buy two programs when Deluxe was stripped of many long time features without any prior notifications
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Anthony helped me to figure out how to e-mail and pay the PA State taxes. He was most helpful once he understood what I needed. I was confused and was not asking the right questions, but he figured it out.

What's great about it: Most people should be able to follow instructions. I've always gotten a prompt refund.
What's not so great: some items have to be saved every time anything gets reviewed.

They made it right!

This year for the first time, the TurboTax feature for filing K-1 forms was omitted. I called the support line and they provided a code which reinstated the feature. Thanks!
What's great about it: Features from prior years were reinstated after having been removed
What's not so great: The hassle of calling for assistance

Over two Decades of using TurboTax
on April 6, 2015

I have been using Turbo Tax for over twenty years now and find it amazingly user friendly; very intuitive to use. I like the ability to switch between Interview mode and Forms mode as is best and simplest for me to complete my returns. Of course e-filing makes it all the easier to complete the task. I also like the ability to save the full return as a PDF file and usually refer to the PDF file several times during the course of the year, more so when preparing my next year's return.
What's great about it: East interview mode. Just like talking to a trusted tax advisor.
What's not so great: None
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Not What it Used to Be
on April 6, 2015

I've been using TurboTax since it first came out, and I'm still here so they must be doing something right. This year was, however, a bit of a disappointment. Removing Schedule D from the deluxe version was clearly a mistake, but Intuit managed to address that rather quickly. In the past, form instructions (from the IRS and state tax authorities) were always just one click away. Maybe they still are, but I never found them and had to go elsewhere on the internet to get what I needed. It was that way with other things that I had to look up as well. This year's program is too focused on following the TurboTax script. Sometimes, you need more help or information, but you aren't interested in going to the forums. It used to be easier to get the supplemental information for which you were looking.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Missing a few things
Pros: I bought or sold investments

There is no reason for not including a device to enter user generated tabular data for stock transactions.
What's great about it: Pretty intuitve
What's not so great: I had to enter the stock sale information rather than uploading a csv file.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
