Painful but easy

The step by step and ability to go back and review and the software double check of entries eases the stress.

Ease of Turbo Tax

We have used Turbo Tax for many years. I do the taxes and can move through the whole process with relative ease. The questions asked help clarify info you enter, so that is extremely helpful. I love that it is working on the state while you are completing the federal.
What's great about it: Was very easy to use; loved that it brought over personal information from last year to make new return quicker.
What's not so great: Had difficulty figuring out what was missing on forms.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TurboTax; I won't use anything else

I've been using TurboTax for over 8 years now and because of the different levels of tax complicity, I believe I'll be covered even as my taxes get more complex. I currently use the 'Premier' edition and there is nothing they leave me wanting for.
What's great about it: Asks the pertinent questions and provides a thorough review
What's not so great: Sometimes too redundant.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Refund Time!!!!

Using Turbo Tax is SO EASY and walks you through the entire process step by step. I use it every year to file my taxes. I love how it keeps becoming more and more useful each year.
What's great about it: The simplicity of filling it out!
What's not so great: I had to upgrade to premium and not sure I REALLY needed to.
Pros: I moved

Generally Happy

I am generally happy with Turbo Tax. The instructions are easy to follow and you can go into whatever depth you want on a particular part of tax filing.
I did not like having to go to the Premier version for completing some straight forward investments that I have. I had no complex stock transactions etc. so I shouldn't have to use the higher priced version of Turbo Tax. This year it was free but I hope in future years they will restore this capability in the deluxe version.

For the past many, many years I have being doing my filing using only Basic TurboTax. I do not have any deductions so only the basic software is needed. However, some of the forms I need have been moved under Premier and I don't like that. Next year I will be looking into new software to do my taxes unless you go back to the way it has been in the past. I have other friends who have expressed these same feelings.
What's great about it: Easy to do return
What's not so great: Don't like you moving some foms under "Premier"

Love Turbo Tax but:

Once you answer the questions on the schedule E and go through a section and then decide to go back, it asks you the same questions. Why doesn't it input your information and store it like the rest of the questions?
I own 5 rental properties and this is very disturbing because I don't always fill out my taxes in one sitting.
For instance: It asks you 5 or 6 questions about ownership, your participation, whether you are a real estate agent, etc. I input the answers and then I go back in to edit the property and it asks me the same questions. Turbo Tax has not saved my answers.

What's great about it: It is very thorough and asks all the right questions.
What's not so great: Asking you the questions again that you have already answered.
