This is my first time not using a paid tax preparer and it was so much easier than I expected. I had the software walk me through everything and it was a piece of cake, and my return is complicated too!

Turbo Tax 2014

It has been some years that I have done my own Taxes, but from my experience of using Turbo Tax this year I will definitely do it again next year using Turbo Tax

What's great about it: Thorough for simple to medium returns.
What's not so great: Required upgrade to handle stock/bond details. Had to go to Forms to correct some data (W2, etc.)

I've used turbo tax for years and find it helpful and easy. One suggestion is it should give the reason it selects/recommends one of two options; e.g., when selecting between using all ones itemized or the standard deduction.
What's great about it: Don't have to re-enter lots of data from last year
What's not so great: Had to buy an upgrade to "premiun" from "delux" version.

K-1 Issue

There seems to be a breakdown in the feature that provides additional forms, where necessary. Submitting information from a K-1, I was instructed to add worksheets for a few minor figures. However, obtaining those additional worksheets was more difficult than in prior years. Actually, last year I had the same problem. Finally worked out, but wasted a lot of time, trying to get the program to provide me with the necessary worksheets.
What's great about it: I've been using Turbo Tax for years and am generally very happy with it.
What's not so great: K-1 entries required a second and third worksheet, which was very difficult to obtain. Not intuitive at all.

Disappointed

I've used Turbo Tax for 3 years and this year I ran into a programming glitch that would not allow me to submit my return. Spent an hour on the phone with a technician who clearly stated the error was on their part.
Will never use the product again as I will always worry about this return. They've declined in quality of product.
What's great about it: Easy walk through and tips
What's not so great: Programming errors

I would rather enter the schedule D information on a schedule D form and not have all those other forms to fill out, they are slow and tedious. In addition, I had to buy a more expensive version of turbotax this year due to my investments.
In addition, everytime I updated, turbax would erase some of my info on sheets that were not updated.

What's not so great: I would rather just use the forms - I hate the automatic guide it is slow and boggy.
