Easy to use. Very complete

What's great about it: Save $ by using TurboTax over an accountant

I Don't Card About Title

I have used turbo tax for years. I have never liked the expense on it, and that was compounded this year by confusion over what product to buy. I have never liked the fact that you must perform addition to get to answers.
What's not so great: I don't like the expense and I don't like the fact that you have to add

Retirement credit

Retirement credit is limited if you have received distributions from retirement plans. The program failed to ask if the distributions for the last couple of years were trustee to trustee transfers or distributions from an inherited IRA, both of which are exceptions to having to include them as reductions from contributions in the current year. I had to check the instructions for form 8880 that I had to download from the IRS to find this information.
What's great about it: computed correctly

Easy - Even when your taxes are complex

Turbo Tax makes an unpleasant process at least bearable! We have a fairly complex tax system and Turbo Tax makes it manageable. I normally have my returns reviewed by a tax professional after completing them in Turbo Tax and before filing. The good news is that they are usually in 100% agreement with the results from Turbo Tax. With Tax Free State bonds that are part of a Bond fund. These dont seem to be reported in a way that Turbo Tax can determine which earnings are State Tax Free and which earnings are subject to State tax. This normally requires some manual adjustments. But this is only a minor issue.

What's not so great: A complex tax code require a more complex program

Great way to compute and file!

TurboTax is performing a great public service by offering their product. It should embarrass the heck out of Congress to allow a tax code so complex that the average person needs expert help to simply file a return. Write your Congressional representatives!
What's great about it: Ease of use; confidence in TT knowing the right way to file; help availability
What's not so great: No biggies, just rankles me that the tax code is so complex that the average person needs to get expert help for file!
