Quick, Easy to Fathom Tax Return

I have used MacIntax and Turbotax since the 1990's without a problem; in fact the programs have consistently made sure I did not forget or overlook potential errors, deductions and information that needed to be corrected. The archival information from year to year in terms of automatic entry of addresses etc. and carried losses are worth the price of the program. Comparison analysis of year to year information is useful for tax strategies for the forthcoming year.
What's great about it: questions which guide return, update from last year, error messages alerting to potential problems

Really Hate to Do This Every Year!

OK! 26 pages & I am done. First I am not as organized as I should be....my fault. I do like the lay out of where to start & the ease of going back when you find something you should have added.
I did fine things that I wrote a year ago that were hanging out in the forms after I printed everything. This is important we have to get the old stuff weeded out before next year or it will be carried over again. Example on our cottage we had used paint, caulking and had a wiring change that was still there with no funds attached. So have got to clean things up a bit. Otherwise I am comfortable with the forms. Good Luck! Sue

What's great about it: Surprise it was easier and Smoother!
What's not so great: At the end it took me ages to find out how to delete a duplicate number.

Another easy tax return process

Another tax return process done, thanks to TurboTax. Walked me through everything again. This year I had a Form K-1 for Partnerships to include. Without TurboTax, it would have taken all day. I was somewhat disappointed in having to "upgrade" this year (and pay more) for the Premier version with no real changes in my tax year. Intuit should have warned their loyal customers in advance instead of springing it on them at the retail outlets with no warning (or at least from I could tell).
What's great about it: Very user friendly
What's not so great: Added cost to acquire TurborTax Premier this year

SW Got Worst- What Happen?

Extremely frustrated. Will not buy Turbotax again.
What's great about it: Nothing, very bad user experience, this year is the worst release
What's not so great: Very difficult to find detail, not very flexible to allow change once the answer was given

2014 Turbo Tax Premier

I've been using Turbo Tax for several years now and it seems to just keep getting better. Simplifying the mess that is the federal tax code is a life-saver not to mention a cost savings by avoiding the storefront tax services. If you have reasonable computer skills and aren't intimidated by a host of federal tax forms, this is the best way to go. Kudos to Intuit for another great year!

What's not so great: Live Chat would be a big help!
