Overseas Filing

1. Unable to buy Turbo Tax from England online because: a. No USA address b. No USA credit card.
2. Unable to complete first page because no options to input foreign address and telephone numbers.
3. No page to report foreign UK pensions which should be part of Foreign Earned Income, Form 2555. No line 23 to report.
4. No customer service really. No e-mail address to contact or mailing address.

Made taxes easy

Have used turbo tax for several years and fell it gets better and easier every year.
What's great about it: Being guided through forms
What's not so great: Some items can't be contrlled

NY State Out of State Largely Unsuble

The process for filing a non-resident tax return did not work.
- Would not allow to e-file. Endless loop on state information questionnaires.
- Could not accurately determine revenue allocation. Had to enter into forms directly

Good overall, couple of enhancements could be made:
I have to re-enter my vehicle information for everyone of my rental properties. This should be centralized.
At the end, when filing, you are given two options to print the returns, but you are not told that. At the first one, application should state exactly that: "You will have an opportunity to print you return at the end".
Also, some sections made you go through a strict process; application should present the entire process and then the user should be able to pick and choose what items to enter.
What's great about it: Very comprehensive: Captures everything that I need to do.
What's not so great: Usability could be better: I have to re-enter information at time and cannot skip around quickly

Taxes a Breeze w/Turbo Taxes

Completed taxes in 30 minutes which included dividends, stock trades, pension income, medical expenses, etc. Superb application!!!!
What's great about it: Easy to use, you are in control not your accountant.
What's not so great: None
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Expensive & Then Additional Charges

I've been a loyal TurboTax user since the early 90s, and the kicker this year was the increase in price in order to obtain the Premier Edition which is required for investments. In previous years this was not the case. This was a major disappointment with TurboTax. In addition, there are charges for everything other than the basic filing. Charges if you use a credit card to pay your Federal Taxes, payment if you want to efile your state return, and additional charges if you want audit protection/representation. With all of this I will reconsider using TurboTax next year.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Expensive & then too many additional charges.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
