Deluxe to Premier for FREE

Somehow we qualified for a FREE upgrade from Deluxe to Premier version (happened when doing FED investments entries), but it downloaded and upgraded the installed Deluxe and did not allow me to save this Premier version to the hard drive for subsequent burning to DVD. Copying DVD is allowed via license agreement, but now if I ever rebuild my PC and need to re-install Turbo Tax 2014 all I have is the Deluxe version and I am not certain if this subsequent install will upgrade for free once again...
You should have allowed me to SAVE this FREE upgrade to HD before applying or installing this other version for archival purposes.

Excellent on-line support

We purchased TurboTax Premier and when I went to start doing our taxes I realized we did not have a CD/DVD drive on our new computer set-up. Help line was outstanding and fixed us up with a download. Intuit should consider selling software on a Flash drive since many computers no longer have CD/DVDs.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Computer does not have CD/DVD

Disappointing experience

TT handled most of my return with ease. This included retirement income, dividends, interest stock trades and self-employment. However, I had rolled over funds from and IRA to a Roth IRA then recharacterized them back to the IRA. I was unable to get the interview process to reflect what I had done, although I repeated it at least five times. I finally went to to the forms view and found the worksheet that described what I had done. Entering data there produced the results I wanted and allowed me to finish my return.
What's great about it: Interview mostly clear and helpful
What's not so great: Interview failed to handle recharacterization

What's not so great: NOTHING

Consistent Instructions

I have been using Turbo Tax for almost 20 years now. I tried some other ways of preparation before but since I started Turbo Tax, I didn't look back. It's very helpful and easy to follow for regular tax payers. People with complicated tax may need more help.
What's great about it: Year over Year, the navigation is very similar and the Help is expanded every year.
What's not so great: Repeat user for year may deserve some discount of the TurboTax

Extra Cost Version Containing Errors

Adding an extra version of TurboTax to force an upgrade to be able to import brokerage accounts was a turn off. After using TurboTax for over 10 years, next year may be the year of change.
First time ever "script errors" while trying to print State return..

easier each year

I have used Turbo-Tax for many years and prepare not only my return but also help with several returns for family/friends each year. With all of us using the same system, I can guide every one through so we all can benefit.
Before Turbo-Tax I did everything, pen in hand the long-hand way but would not even try this at this point in my life and with the additional complex requirements of today. 50 years ago it was a long weekend but now is only a single evening once I have gathered the necessary documents thanks to Turbo-Tax.
What's great about it: Good reminders about items I would/might have over looked
What's not so great: Had to upgrade @ mid-preparation because of carryovers amounts from prior year

I'll Never Use Anthing Else

I've been using TurboTax for 16 years and will never use anything else. It just makes the process so uncomplicated. You don't have to be a tax expert to do your own taxes thanks to the experts at Turbo Tax!
