Bad Surprises

Wish I had known up front you were going to stick me with a higher fee for your product. I didn't like the surprise in mid-stream. Also, several data points that should have transferred automatically from Federal calculations, I had to manually go find them in the Federal form and enter into Alabama NR package I had to fill out. For the price of the extra state form AND the Premium price....that was just completely unexpected and annoying.
What's great about it: Completed in good amount of time
What's not so great: Deluxe to Premium surprise

Avoid Accountants

TurboTax takes you through an easy to understand flow of questions: types of income, types of deductions,. Guidance information is readily available under the "?" .
I used an accountant before and got audited 4 years out of 5. Errors were made and I owed back taxes due to the errors. Because of this, I purchased the TurboTax Audit protection package.
I tried to file electronically. I filed but received an error message from both federal and state almost immediately. I have not reviewed the submission to find if there is a good definition of the errors and whether a fix is available.
What's great about it: Easy to understand flow of information
What's not so great: None

I would use Turbo Tax every year and it was easy and fast and accurate.

Made the most of filing taxes!

Always find Turbo Tax the best solution for filing our taxes. They always keep us up to date and paying only what we owe...except for the submitting part.
Don't think we will use the e-filing part again. That was very unnerving having to worry about the IRS coming after us.
Keep making a great product! ;-)
What's great about it: Helpful boxes to explain variety of situations and questions
What's not so great: Had to pay pentalties to IRS...Turbo email said submission was complete.but IRS didn't accept.Cost us $100:((

Very concerned about have my information used in a fraudulant return. If it ever happens to me that will be the last time I use Turbo Tax

Getting Easier

Taxes were easier this year than any other. My only complaint would be the few parts that are really complicated, like 1099-DIV, should walk you through the essence of each entry and not surprise you with IRS-type questions later. We need walking through what foreign tax was paid and what % each state was tax-free.
What's great about it: Very easy to use, especially after the 1st year
What's not so great: Complex parts don't have appropriate wizard

Too Much to Think About at Tax Time

I can't remember when I did not use Turbo Tax. My wife and I were concerned this year because we relocated for a new job after the year started. We had moving expense, a home to sell and taxes for two states. With my experience using Turbo Tax I felt comfortable that the well supported software would get the job done. It certainly did and I learned a much about the tax requirement differences between states.
I will continue to use Turbo Tax in the future.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax consolidates the time required to complete my taxes
What's not so great: Some explanations not as clear as I would like
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved
