The free upgrade to the Premium edition really helped me wade through a family member's myriad of stock transaction issues. Been using Turbo Tax for years and see no reason to stop.
What's great about it: Easy to follow the various section "guides." Links to IRS publications are very helpful, too.
What's not so great: Pop up ads for "extras"
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Incredible professional help!

I used the Premier Edition of Turbo Tax and was able to report very complicated tax situations after selling many MLPs. The interview needs tweaking, but all the necessary steps needed to enter the information was there. I consulted two very capable tax professionals to help me through the process and they couldn't have been nicer and more patient.
What's great about it: Access to very smart tax professionals.
What's not so great: Needs better interview dealing with sale of MLPs.

Better than last year

The program is better than last year; seems less like a DOS program and more like Windows. We had to work through a portion of the information twice because it did not ask the correct questions regarding investment property
What's great about it: decent pace of working through the program
What's not so great: Misleading on investment income, had to work through it twice

Easy to work through taxes. But, there as no reason not to
include forms d (capital gains) and E (schedules K-1 for me) and it took several hours to get everythjng straightened out. One problem as tghat despite many years using turbotax and paying each year, somehow my acconut end in the unpaid category.
What's not so great: Original missing forms d & e

Loyal User but this year it's missing a part

There's a section that states if a person has a sale of property - not main residence - to click 'yes' - and it provided a free upgrade to premier. However the sale did not include a form 1099B so therefore it would not let me proceed. We took a loss on a sale but unable to claim using Turbo tax. Disappointing that you show it to be included - but then unable to claim it.
What's great about it: Easy to use; Covers most items
What's not so great: Sale of property
Pros: I bought or sold investments

2014 taxes

My return is not that simple, lots of stock transactions, k-1's, etc. But it is so easy with the step through, that I can do my complete return in one afternoon. It use to take days. It is hard to believe that it can be this easy to do and fell confident that it is right. It is really worth a whole lot more than it cost.
What's great about it: just import data, fill in gaps, and file...
What's not so great: always tring to sell me something, but that is your job...
Pros: I bought or sold investments

COULD HAVE ADVISED UP FRONT THAT THERE WOULD BE TWO SCREENS TO INPUT STOCK SALES. ONE FOR LONG AND ANOTHER FOR SHORT SALES REQUIRED. OLD FORMAT LET YOU ENTER INFO AND BROKE IT OUT AS REQUIRED.
SECOND YEAR IN A ROW THAT FORM 1116 IS DIFFICULT. AS YOU DO THE CALCULATIONS, WHY CAN YOU NOT SUPPLY THE SUPPORTING INFO IF IT IS NEEDED FOR A PARTICULAR LINE OR AT LEAST DIRECT US TO WERE WE MIGHT FIND THE INFO. IF FORM 1116 IS NOT CORRECTED NEXT YEAR I WILL LOOK FOR ANOTHER PROGRAM TO DO MY TAXES.
What's great about it: OVER ALL PROGRAM WORKS WELL.
What's not so great: INPUT OF STOCK SALES WAS CUMBERSOME. FORM 1116 STILL A PROBLEM.
Pros: I bought or sold investments
