Federal Return
on February 2, 2015

Overall we're pleased with Turbo Tax! My only hiccup was not being prompted to download investment information into the federal return.
And the State Michigan Return does not provide me the option to select my City of Macomb and I am stock with selecting Detroit creating a big chaos and possibly owing the City of Detroit an enormous amount of money when I don't reside nor work in Detroit.
I noticed at the end how come I was missing mortgage, investment data etc.
Recommend the ability to have the State owed be deducted from the Federal providing there is a Refund.
What's great about it: Including prior year's tax information
What's not so great: Not being prompt to download investment information into the federal return

Software Issues

Worst year to date. Have used this product since 2000 and have been an advantage customer for more than a few years. Spent in total about 6 hours this weekend for what usually takes one hour. As an advantage customer the benefits are too costly when I can get my taxes done in my town for approximately half of what I had to pay this year before spending too much time on the phone to be refunded money I shouldn't have to spend. The advantage program needs to be overhauled for long time customers like myself and better assistance options on the weekends.
What's great about it: Ease of year to year
What's not so great: Being charged twice and forced to pay by deduct from my refund.

Deluxe snafu

Bought the Deluxe program, filled my return and then found out I could not do a Schedule D. Went back to the store and bought a Premier program and had issues. Talk to someone on Intuit they straightened out the issue. File the return. Was pleasantly surprised to find out I was getting a refund by Intuit for the Deluxe-Premium snafu. I really was not going to use them next year, but, the refund changed my mind.
Great program for the novice and beginner return filer. Could do with out the self-promotion on the other services they offer, but, otherwise a great program. Also a very easy import if you have their Quicken program.
What's great about it: Easy to work around. Flexible for the knowledgable and the unknowledgable.
What's not so great: Deluxe software last year had to file Premier this year.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I was a nervous wreck filing my taxes this year because I have multiple w2s and 1099s. I called for support from product support and the lady I spoke with was personable as well as knowledgeable she was great. I also spoke with a tax agent and she was wonderful. I used turbotax premier it was very easy to use and I felt comfortable. thank you turbotax for making it easy to do my taxes as well as affordable. I will be returning next year for my third year. Job well done.
What's great about it: easy to use excellent customer service
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2014 Taxes
on February 2, 2015

I started using TurboTax in the mid 90's. The information on Clergy tax gets better each year. I do wish there was more detailed help in the Social Security tax section. I usually have to attempt a couple of different options to figure it out correctly.
Over-all I will continue using turbotax, it is easy and if calculating taxes could be fun, it would almost be fun.
What's great about it: The questionnaire was very easy this year
What's not so great: It doesn't tell me when I entered something different for spouse, on the exact same topic
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I have used turbotax for about 12 years i filed for my Father in Law, one of my son and my self. we mailed all for years. My father in lay died 5 years ago, now iprepare my single sons tax and mine..We started e-filing 3 years ago and e-files all, My sons went thru free and state i paid for, now i files the first the first return and paid. WHY ??? As i read the fine print i should be able to file 3 sets, federal and State with free e-file.. I also use Quicken for 20 years and Quick-books.
What's great about it: Have always been pleased with the results
What's not so great: NO FREE e-filing ?????
