Excellent Product!

I've used Turbotax for years and have had a great experience with it each time. But the one sticking point I've had since the beginning is that entering ESPP sales, which consist of fractional shares bought at different times, is complicated and very time consuming. It took me several tries to get the entries right for each batch of shares sold. Maybe it's the nature of the ESPP beast, but it seems to me that there could be an easier way to get these entered. One thing that would help is for Turbotax to show the use of "Various" more conspicuously for entering batches of shares bought at different times. Right now, you have to find "various" by clicking for a drop-down.
But don't let this deter you, Turbotax gets an otherwise onerous job done quickly, consistently, thoroughly, and easily.
What's great about it: Easy to use, thorough, and detailed.
What's not so great: Entering ESPP share batches is complicated.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Easy as Pie

Love that much of last year's return is copied and/or compared so I can see if I'm way off base before I get too far along.
What's great about it: Talked me through all the process
What's not so great: Hope a mistake made last year won't be repeated. The instructions on that section were clearer this year.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Done in record time!
on April 2, 2015

Once again, as a long time user of Turbo Tax, the time taken to prepare and file my taxes for 2014 was very quick and a good use of my time. I find that recording certain items such as prescription costs when I get them and recapping medical and volunteer mileage every month saves time when it comes to doing the actual tax return. As usual, easy to follow instructions and helpful ways of calculating other items such as charitable deductions. Thanks once again for a quality product!
What's great about it: So easy to use, brings forward important information.
What's not so great: Can't think of any

Re-entering Data Tiresome
on April 2, 2015
Posted by: Gary1942
When you go back through some sections to review or check your entries, you have to completely re-enter the data again. What you entered the first time has been erased or something. This gets real old looking stuff up again to re-enter it.
What's great about it: Flexibility of Picking What I Want to Work On

Good Old Reliable TurboTax

20+ years of use and there has never been a year where TurboTax has failed me. Once again I had no problems at all. Easy to use. Good user interface. Excellent step-by-step interview approach to make sure all the bases are covered. I would not consider any other tax preparation software for the years to come.
What's great about it: Simple and easy to use
What's not so great: None to speak of

Good experience but some problems
on April 2, 2015
Posted by: Cindy0922
It was not possible to find the details behind line 8b items.
What's great about it: The questions are so thorough that making a mistake is not easy
What's not so great: I e-filed my federal and later went to e-file New York (required) but it tried to file federal a second time.

Changed the scope and prices
on April 2, 2015

Name changes on product lines with changes in which product to buy to do investments made me buy twice. I am accustom to using turbo tax and like how it works. In a world which offers free tax software a large price increase seems to be a risky buisness model.
What's great about it: Same understandable process I have used for many years
What's not so great: Investment change confusing and cost of second state seems higher
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments
