1098 Difficulties

Deduction sections could be more intuitive:
1 - I entered several dependent care providers initially without their EIN. Going back to enter the EIN and change amounts was not intuitive. I had to go to forms mode. When I clicked done with the entire section it showed me a review of my providers which is where i couldve edited this info but it is counterintuitive that you need to click done in order to edit. Done is done.
2 - I found it difficult to enter property tax info from a 1098 or record 1098s in general. I had 3 1098s this year. I summed and entered my interest but it put the # as not reported on a 1098 but it was. I went to forms and found or figured out a way to add/edit 1098s. I had to go back and add another but I couldnt remember how I or turbotax had added the 1098 previously. It let me get to the worksheet but not the 1098. Creation may have occurred as part of a failed import. In the end i could not create the remaining 1098 which included interest but not property taxes.
3) My suntrust and provident funding imports did not work. Imports do a lot to simplify filing. If anything can be done to improve this feature that would be nice.
What's great about it: I like the ease of doing my taxes with TurboTax - 10 yr+ user
What's not so great: 1098 entries were difficult
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

Job Simplified

I've used TurboTax for a number of years and appreciate how it has simplified the entire tax return filing process, for both federal and state returns. The many hours sitting I once spent at my desk has been reduced to little more than an hour in front of my computer, partly because TurboTax copies pertinent data from the previous year's forms, I have all my necessary papers at hand, and I am comfortable using a PC. The software logically directs me, which I appreciate. The language is clear, but there are plenty of opportunities to have a particular point or term clarified. All of this is much appreciated.

Tax Preparation went very well & easy to follow

I used Turbo Tax early to see what my AGI would be using various "what if" scenarios. Being able to modify the AGI before the tax year ended by using various investment options, I was able to control what my medicare premium will be in the following year as well as what my taxes will be.
What's great about it: No hurdles ... everything explaned well.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Easier than last year

Start to finish was just four hours this year. There were fewer interview areas that were confusing. Better explanations.
It was upsetting to have to upgrade from the Deluxe version to be able to handle mutual funds. For years such investments were handled in the Deluxe version.
What's great about it: Fewer confusing elements of the interview.
What's not so great: Forced to upgrade to higher level of TurboTax this year just to cover mutual funds.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Taxes Signed, Sealed and Delivered in Record Time!

I have used TurboTax to prepare our taxes for several years and the Premier Edition continues to make the whole process easier. As distasteful as tax preparation is for me each year, I can say TurboTax (MacInTax previously), unequivocally makes the task bearable. TurboTax's detailed questions about each portion of the complicated tax forms allows me to have confidence in how the IRS will view my tax return submission. Determination of the fair market value of contributions for itemized deductions also provides me with a semblance of accuracy of my contributions' value.

Good Product

I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years and have been very pleased with the ease of doing so. Being 89 years "young" does have it's disavantages as to thinking clearly at times and TurboTax takes the worry out of tax forms.
What's great about it: Very easy to use & very accurate
What's not so great: unable to get a printed record of forms

Turbo Tax = Piece of Mind

Thank you for a reliable application! I always feel that Turbo Tax "has my back" and guides me to a solid filing.
What's great about it: Complex calculations done simply - Resources available to resolve questions - Thorough data checks along the way
What's not so great: None!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
