Michigan Migraine Headache
on April 1, 2015

I have no idea whether or not I made the correct entries on the Michigan form using TurboTax. I hope I don't end up in jail!!
What's great about it: Automatic loading of fed data into Tax return
What's not so great: Michigan forms 4884 and the MI-1045 worksheet were incomprehensible.

Made it right

Started off rather rocky with Deluxe being crippled so badly. I did check and if it happens again or prices go up, I will switch. Trust me. Intuit did recognize their huge blunder and make things right but really did lose user confidence. Yes, I'll be back next year but have saved this years return as a PDF "just in case".
What's great about it: Ease of use
What's not so great: Intuit GREED
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I love Turbo Tax

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years and every year the folks at Turbo Tax have improved the software to make it easier to use.
You can stop and then pickup where you left off or you can easily go back to review an entry and return to where you were.
It makes all the calculations and fills out the appropriate forms.
.
It's well worth the money!
What's great about it: It's very easy to use. It guides you all the way.
What's not so great: Can't think of any cons.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax Experience
on April 1, 2015

I have been using TT for 20 years or more and it has improved each year. Unfortunately, the IRS keeps making tax filling more and more complicate each year. I was on the verge of using a tax accountant this year but I persevered.
I especially like to ability to switch between setp-by-step and forms.
What's great about it: For straight-forward situations TT does it all!
What's not so great: The more complex an indivicual's tax situation, the more difficult it is to use Tubo Tax.

If you file a few schedules--C, D, E--it's not totally smooth inputting the correct data. One item on a K-1 for a Sch. E kept coming up for review and kept federal & state returns from being e-filed. Finally I was able to input data to resolve. Did I do it correctly? Who knows?
What's great about it: Easier than manual preparation.
What's not so great: Not as smooth as I would like. Issues/problems appear. Maybe it's me!

Destresses My Income Tax Experience
on April 1, 2015

I've been using Turbo Tax for years and trust it completely. Takes the pain out filing capital gains, dividends, etc.
What's great about it: Importing documents is AWESOME!!! Saves a HUGE amount of time and eliminates errors associated w/ manual data entry.
What's not so great: Wasn't clear to me what was going on with my HSA dsitributions, when they were addressed in the Deductions section.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
