Generally Good

Program is generally very good but often leaves questions with not easy way to resolve or even find the calculations. State return is like a second class citizen.
What's great about it: Federal Tax very good
What's not so great: State TAX poor

TurboTax - Some very good - some quite bad

A couple of dozen investment transactions (mostly options) showed up as dollar amounts only, and the program requires the detail. This involves searching the 1099B or Quicken to find the required information. Very time consuming.
What's great about it: Usually straight forward input
What's not so great: 1099B investment data incomplete when downloaded

Easy, smooth...confidence.

I have been using Turbo Tax for the past ten years, and my level of stress has been reduce to a 25% of what it was before (taxes are always stressful), but more important, the level of confidence in the accuracy of my taxes is about 90% up,
I always get my full refund and, so far, no problems or issues with the IRS.
What's great about it: Clear and straight to the point.
What's not so great: none
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

It seems that in an effort to make inputs simple you removed some flexibility in putting in data. Stock sale could not be changed from IRS cost basis to non-IRS cost basis.
Sales tax input could have been more obvious when not using recommended number. Home remodel was not offered as a major expense.

Turbotax is life saver

As usual, I don't think I would be able to do my taxes myself without TurboTax. It greatly simplifies a complex and continually changing process. I had trouble with my 1099 MISC and had to resort to an override to get it right. Mine is an unusual case. Overall a great product.
What's great about it: Guides me through a complex return
What's not so great: Taking items out of Deluxe version big mistake, but fixed well!

This is lots better than manual calculations, and some things get better every year, but navigation is a bit cumbersome, when returning to add info -- it used to be easier to return to a specific spot in the return.
Home office deductions worked out fine (since I figured out what to do last year). Since I do most of my work away from an internet connection, it's hard to get detailed help when I need it.

What's not so great: couldn't tell why depreciation transferred to PA state return was higher than that on fed return

Superb Simplicity

Better than ever. Despite some real complexities, went from start to finish in about 3 hours - a new record for me.
What's great about it: Clarity of instructions
What's not so great: Very minor - would like easier way to skip non-applicable portions
