Useful Program

Overall, I like the program a lot. However, I did encounter a few problems and the program could be fine-tuned to correct them.
I am reimbursed within the year for my Medicare premiums, but the program automatically includes the premium cost from my SSA 1099 in the medical itemized deductions. I was told I could enter it as a negative amount in the medical insurance section to correct this, but it didn't work. Instead, in the instructions, it would be simpler if you simply included Medicare premiums as a type of health insurance premium that could be deducted.
I need this program because I have investments. However, the program did not carry over the amount of exempt interest dividends from my 1099-DIV to the NYS exempt interest page. There should be a question that asks from which states the dividends are exempt and the amount from each state so they can be carried over onto the state returns.
Also very helpful, the program determines whether you must pay the Alternative Minimum Tax, an incomprehensible feat for the average person to attempt on their own.

TurboTax 2014 - Almost Bait and Switch

I initially bought the Deluxe version of TurboTax 2014. As I took a closer look at its features, I noticed that unlike the 2013 version - the 2014 Deluxe version would not import investment data from my financial institutions. I had to buy the more expensive Premier version to get the import feature.
I do not appreciate the stripping of features from the Deluxe version that had always been incorporated.
What's great about it: Familiar format
What's not so great: Need to buy Premium version to get features in 2013 Deluxe

Easy and Quick

Excellent format, entry, review, and very easy to move within the program.
What's great about it: Have simplified the process over year and 2015 was very easy to use. Also, much easier to move to various subjects,.
What's not so great: The review need to be more specific and explain what item that is to be corrected. Maybe use an example.

2014 Review

Keep TT Deluxe the same as it has been for several years and I will continue using it. Schedule D info should be included in the Deluxe version. Premier is NOT cost effective for my filing (approximately 10 enteries of stock transactions).
What's great about it: Used TT Deluxe and its works fine for me
What's not so great: Confusion over changes to TT Deluxe -

TURBO TAX 2014

Did not like this year the password option which had to log into Intuit. Theres no scrolling this year, just tab key and had to tab thru the whole form to get back to the top of the form. Turbo is very familiar and has not changed much in the 15 years I have been using it which make for no surprises and confusion.
What's great about it: Easy to use , import from financial institutions,
What's not so great: Password Option , Use of tab key instead of scroll

Confident of accuracy

I've used Turbo Tax since 1998, from owning my own business, through investment years, and now during my retirement. I recommended Turbo Tax to anyone who asks because I've been very successful in my own use.
What's great about it: Like being walked through each section. Like the amount of return or amount due at the top.
What's not so great: Disappointed to be unable to import investment info this time.

Premier

Not happy that I had to buy the upgrade Premier version to complete my stock investment taxes. Was told I would receive a rebate after my taxes were filed. How does that happen? Nick names are all taken !!!
What's great about it: Had investment forms
What's not so great: Last year investment forms were in Deluxe version
