Oh So Easy!

After many years of using TT it just gets easier!
What's great about it: The ease with which TurboTax walks me through. Even with rental property, TT helps me get through with the least angst.
What's not so great: Would love to have a way to upload documentation of expenses all year long.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Health Insurance Premiums

It did not occur to me until after preparation of filing to check to see if my private health insurance premium included the separate dental insurance premium. It did not and the amount gave me a medical deduction. I checked my 2013 tax return, but the difference did not qualify for a deduction. I have used Turbo for around 20 years or more.
What's great about it: Automated transfer of Medicare and private insurance premium from 1099s
What's not so great: Other medical premiums instruction should give dental and vision insurance as examples

Please put the "done with deduction" buttons at the top as well as the bottom. I kept having to scroll down to the bottom to move to the next item. Also, once one enters detail on either an income or deduction item and clicks "done", please take the user back to the next step rather than to the top of the overall column, requiring the user to scroll back down to the next step. This is cumbersome.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: A couple of minor glitches that required a call to Turbo Tax help; they resolved them.

Straightforward & Clear .... usually!

I have used TurboTax since the days of MacInTax, circa 1987. The reliability, timely updates, and thoroughness of EasyStep has always made me a confident return customer and user. I have often recommended TurboTax to family, friends, and conversations amongst acquaintances.
However, with the number of commercial bankruptcies and ultimate Creditor Trusts established to enable settlements to creditors as beneficiaries of the Trust(s), TurboTax should definitely include "how to" enter tax information from Grantor Letters.
What's great about it: Clarity of Easystep
What's not so great: No directions for entering tax information on Grantor Letters

I've used TurboTax for over 9 years.
I have a medium complexity tax return. Each of the past years have been smooth. This year, I ran into several problems/possible bugs in the software.

Overall TurboTax customer service was patient and efficient in solving my problems...but this is the first time I've had to use that . That occurred several times.
1. During the Premier upgrade process.
2. I lost a file version to an error message and had to start over. no backup file was found per on-line instruction.
3. During the State e-file payment my file siezed and wouldn't move forward.

Overall still happy but not sure what happened this year.
What's great about it: Very clear on options and opportunities for deductions. Well done

Easy, Fast....

The review title says it all. Used this product for years. Originally when I had a rental house. I'm very comfortable with the product...
What's great about it: Simple to use, guided tour best.
What's not so great: Haven't really found one... (this year)
