Easy Ride

Mailing my taxes.Turbo printed cover letter for state taxes showing where to mail and how much we are getting back from the state. Did not print out letter for federal showing where to mail as turbotax 2013 .
What's great about it: Peace of Mind
What's not so great: Did not print turbotax thank you nor turbotax federal cover letter

annoying little problems

I just switched to the mac version, and I like it less. it took me a while to figure out how to access the forms. Also, it was super-annoying that when I went back to review or re-do a section I had worked on previously, it didn't remember a lot of the yes-or-no answers and I had to re-enter them, which sometimes required checking or looking up the information again. I also can't seem to figure out how to make a pdf copy off the mac version and I need one. I've been using Turbotax for about 20 years now, and there's a lot I liked about the older versions better - like the ability to actually see the form that's getting my data in a small box - why did you eliminate that?

Turbotax Continues to Have a Great Product

I like this product. I have used it for years. It has gotten progressively better each year, and it has reduced the tax hassle to the minimum possible. Most data from banks and previous tax returns can be electronically input improving accuracy and vastly reducing the time it takes to prepare the return. Electronic filing is easy and quick. Without this product I would have to spend many hours manually inputting and copying forms with absolutely no chance that a math error would not occur.
I highly recommend Turbotax.
What's great about it: Electronic importation of all data from previous year and financial institutions
What's not so great: I would like Turbotax to remind me that I probably have Management Fee deductions if I had income from managed accounts.

What's not so great: you made out forms that i didnt need and then you made me fill them out without the alturnative to delete them!

Some confusion!

Had more trouble this year than in past, but this was the first year of mandatory distributions from IRAs. A 10% withholding on distributions does not help if your tax rate turns out to be more than 20% due to the cash influx at the end of the tax year.
What's great about it: TT makes sure that the return is calculated correctly!
What's not so great: Had some problems with the final steps to review and print out the return

Overall solid product

We've used TurboTax for several years. Overall, the program is easy to use, easy to set-up and provides step-by-step instructions to help guide you through everything. We love that you can purchase an audit protection that allows them to represent you in case of audit.
My only negative is that we always end up having to purchase an upgraded version. It's never clear exactly what product to by and it always seems we end up buying the next one up due to some form requirement. I also find it iritating that they say once you purchase the software everything is free, it's not. You have to pay a fee to file your state taxes. I would rather you either charge me for this and bake it into the purchase price, or don't advertise that the filing is free.
What's great about it: Easy to use, step-by-step guide, easy to file, easy to pay fees
What's not so great: Some steps are complicated, always need a different version for special forms, always have to pay state e-file fees

Great tax year for my family

In a year where I sold stock, bought solar power for my house and stayed on my wife health insurance I was able to wade through all the questions and get my taxes done. The step-by-step process is excellent.
What's great about it: The step by step process
What's not so great: I couldn;t finish in one sitting

What's great about it: easy to use, easy to make changes
What's not so great: Impossible to find a phone number attached to a human in case of questions
