I filed capital gains and losses for the first time after having done this as an amendment. Much simpler, tough not having the Schedule D information come up made me wonder if all the information was filed. Also, some question on the final amounts, but I think they were ok.
What's great about it: Good job
What's not so great: Some information hard to find in schedules

I have used Turbo Tax for years and it continues to improve! I would recommend it to all!
What's great about it: Organization by category was brilliant , well thought out.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Review of TurboTax Mac Premier

I've used this product for many years filing my returns.
This year I noticed it missed some alerts I would have liked to see.
For example when I filled a section on a Casualty loss, my tax did not reduce. Similarly when I filled in a tax break for a loss due to theft, my tax did reduce. It left my mystified so I called for an explanation. It turned out my adjusted gross income was too high so the program and the tax laws disallowed it. It would have been nice to have found out why without having to call.
There were other alerts that it did a good job of notifying me of, it wasn't all bad.

Critique of 2014 Turbotax

I had to switch to a new computer program this year and was unable to download previous returns. I had asked for help via the program and received no help. Serious problems this year.
What's great about it: Not much
What's not so great: Much more difficult to use this year. Was not able to download previous years return.

Deluxe version lacking; need better Box F for 8949

Deluxe version could not handle stock sales like before so had to complain and got upgraded to Premier. If do same next year, I will probably switch to other software - there are certainly other options. That is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 4 or 5.
Box F for Sched. D transactions in form 8949 is not a choice in the regular walk through mode of Turbotax. It was very difficult to figure out a way to get it to work. Turbotax should include Box F as one of its easy to see choices, just like Box A-E, in the main walk through process of stock transactions. It's right there on form 8949, so why not presented as an obvious option in Turbotax?
What's great about it: Works well, catches non-obvious, does math correctly
What's not so great: Box F transactions for Form 8949 is not recognized in main walk through so is difficult to apply
