IT WAS SO EASY

It was easy and did not take a great deal of time and I like that.
What's great about it: Everything should be this easy.

Stayed with Turbotax

I was really disappointed in the Intuit/TurboTax scheme of eliminating the past features of the Deluxe version. Once they realized the uproar this caused, they provided the required version in order to file one's return without additional expense. Other than that, everything went smoothly. One certainly will be hesitant about buying TurboTax next year without checking exactly what is in the selected version.
What's great about it: Entry of data went smoothly without any puzzling questions
What's not so great: Deluxe edition was missing fileable forms for stock sale and self-employment
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Disappointed
on March 31, 2015

I was frustrated that the product that I have been using for many years was changed to not include the Schedule that I needed. I did not find this out until the product was shipped and I had started my taxes. I was given a free upgrade to the next version but this was confusing and not adequately described. I was forced to redo my taxes a second time. The way this "forced" upgrade was presented was very disappointing. Now, for next year, I have to spend a extra 30.00 for the "new " version that meets my needs. I will be checking other options.
What's not so great: Not full disclosure

Great S/W

Overall score (this is my score only), A-. AI like everything but the long layouts of the Income and Deduction section when you have to wheel al the way down every time to get the bottom of the page. That's it. PS - By the way, I've been using Turbo Tax for several years now
What's great about it: Easy to follow, covers most any situation, explanations are very good.
What's not so great: One has to wheel all the way to the bottom of the page when reviewing sections.

My Tax Year
on March 31, 2015
Posted by: Sarge21220
I've been using Turbo for years and it seems to be getting better, if that's possible. I have a degree in accounting and this program cannot compare with the study and excess work you would need to complete your taxes in the conventional method. All the schedules are layman friendly and the ease to fill the forms in detail are less work each year.
keep up the great work with your attention to detail..................Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: The ease of preparation and all the support... just like the ad, Great Product
What's not so great: Can't think of anything at this time.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2014 Product Terrible
on March 31, 2015

The 2014 product is terrible. Took twice, maybe 3x, as long to complete my returns. Doubled #s!!! No state vouchers!! Use to be able to click on problem area & app would open to form so you wouldn't have to spend time searching for what the app is talking about. The cost savings doing it yourself has become less & less. The list goes on. I'll be looking at other apps for 2015.
What's great about it: None
What's not so great: Last Year for TT

Not As Good As Other Years
on March 31, 2015

TurboTax Premier 2014 did not work as well as TurboTax in previous years. Among the shortcomings are: [1] It didn't pull all my 2013 information into the 2014 return. For example, it didn't transfer my 2013 deductions leaving me with a $35,000 2013 tax due instead of the $8,000 refund I actually received. [2] It did transfer a K-1 from a previous return although I actually closed that business late in 2012. There appeared to be no way to delete the K-1 so I just had to remove that page from my return before filing it. [3] It also didn't transfer all the information for one of my investments. [4] Toward the end, it went into a do-loop with the printing of the returns causing me to have to shut down the program and restart it in order to print my returns. In the end, I was able to complete my 2014 returns, but it was a weird and worrisome process. I hope they are correct.
What's great about it: Does the job
What's not so great: Inconsistent and a little quirky

User Friendly Tax Prep
on March 31, 2015
Posted by: KatSu
It amazes me how easy Turbo Tax makes preparing and filing my taxes. The only thing I have to do is save the right papers in a small folder all year.
In VA the reg fee isn't deductible, but I missed where I could enter my property tax paid. It ultimately didn't matter, since I got all of my taxes back, but I missed something.
Thanks for keeping up-to-date!!!
What's great about it: Just love the interview, step by step. I like being able to see last year's data, and go back and forth between screens.
What's not so great: I didn't know where to put my personal property tax for my car.
