Easy, fairly quick, thorough

I was concerned about a variety of issues, including retirement, pension, unemployment and moving. TurboTax thoroughly reviewed all of our issues and makes me feel confident that the return is complete. In the past few years we have hired a CPA, but TurboTax served the purpose well this year. I will definitely use TurboTax in the future!
What's great about it: Step by step through the variety of issues for our tax return. I feel confident that the return is complete and accurate

Simple and quick!

Always on top of software updates and changes in tax law, TurboTax makes taxes straightforward for someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of time on their taxes. The scan and comparison for previous year's tax forms are very helpful.
What's great about it: Online version as well as downloadable version.
What's not so great: The UI for both online and downloadable versions look dramatically different

I'm very very mad that I had to go back (the 1st turboTax disk was bad) and purchase the TurboTax Premier to do the sale of one stock fund. I have used TurboTax from your 1st year I used Mac-in Tax the company that TurboTax bought. I used Mac-in Tax for many years. This is not the way to keep good repeat customers. I have used TurboTax every year for my Taxes starting in your first year. Please give my a way to print both sides of the forms that the government uses both sides. TurboTax in past years would let me select forms to print without reloading the full print out 1 of 17 or 1 of 36 pages.
What's great about it: Great program with state Tax
What's not so great: I'm very mad that I had to buy Premier program for one stock sale Print form must give me a way to print forms on 2 side

Glad it's Over

Most everything went smoother this year than last. The parts that were difficult or confusing related to handling of investment sales for which purchase dates and cost were not reported on a form 1099-B. More problems occurred because my wife didn't take an IRA RMD (broker's fault). But, TT did all the right things and, once again, we were able to e-file.
What's great about it: Everything came together.
What's not so great: Wife failed to take RMD and that appeared to stump TT. Handling paperwork for Box E on 1099-B was confusing.

Good program overall - The updates complete but the restart does not happen. Have to restart the program manually. Just a lillte blip

Easy and Helpful

I've been using TurboTax for 5 years now and have learned so much about the process. It's very helpful the way it guides you through the entire process. If I don't understand something, there are help guides and I can do extra research online. This year my husband and I found new jobs in California and TurboTax helped us figure out that we could deduct our moving expenses. It was a sweet surprise. Great software!
What's great about it: Lots of help information that explains everything
What's not so great: none

Always Reliable

I've been using Turbo Tax every year for more than ten years. I've always appreciated how simple they make tax preparation. For my relatively simple tax situation, it's a perfect tool. However, as good as it is, Turbo Tax cannot do all of my thinking for me. For example, it does not let me know about a state sales tax deduction. That's one of the things I have to find and enter myself.
What's great about it: Easy, step by step walk thru tax forms
What's not so great: State sales tax deduction not included in step-by-step process

Filed an Amended return for 2014 and got zapped!

I used Turbo Tax to file my 2014 1040 return and it filed easily. BUT, when I needed to file an amended (2014) return the program ended up telling me that I (BOTH) had a refund due and (when printing out my returns) it showed I still owed money to the Federal government. I will make sure to NOT USE Turbo tax next year due to this insurmountable flaw in the program.
Nothing I tried would undo this conflict of information and results!!!

What's great about it: Filing a "Regular Return" can be easy if you don't need to amend it.
What's not so great: Turbo Tax messed me up when I tried to file a 1040X !!!
