Makes tax prep bearable (almost!)

I've used TurboTax since 1999 for myself and two daughters. I look on it as a necessary evil and am relieved when I can hit the "submit" button and know that it is done right. This year's fiasco with leaving Schedule C out of the TT product I'd been using for years was almost enough to make me choose something else. Don't know who's bright idea that was, but I am glad to see that TT heard the complaints and is offering a rebate.
What's great about it: most areas are easy to understand
What's not so great: sometimes it is hard to find a topic you've already done

Great Again

My fourth year using Turbo Tax and it gets easier each time. I finished Federal and State in 2 days. Using Quicken helped a lot as I could get a summary of all items quickly. Love it!
What's great about it: Easy to use, great guidance and help system.
What's not so great: Had trouble doing AZ form 321 again (Credit for Contributions to Qualifying Charitable Organizations)
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Little Johnny review

I still cannot find where in the Turbo Tax interactive program you would apply a portion of the Illinois refund to the 2015 estimated Illinois taxes. The HELP screen did not help. On the screen titled A FEW THINGS BEFORE WE WRAP UP YOUR STATE TAXES, there was no option to APPLY OVERPAYMENT FOR NEXT YEAR in the Other Situations section.
What's great about it: easy to use and accurate
What's not so great: IL state return

Trust TurboTax

I trust TurboTax to provide me with the correct information related to my investment transactions in particular. I was disappointment when I discovered that at the end of my entry process that the analysis review did not detect that I had entered something twice. I did catch the entry myself and corrected it. And it could have been because of the way the entries were made that caused the system not to detected the duplication.

What's great about it: Great assistance/directions...love that it walks me through each step
Pros: I bought or sold investments

rejection caused by turbo tax transferred entries, solutions offered were ineffective, rejected 3 times, finally ended up print and mail.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: poor handling of efile rejection

Baby Boomer comes into 21st Century

This is the first time we've used Turbo Tax as we previously hired a professional tax person and are not totally comfortable doing things on-line. We are delighted that we took this step and saved the tax prep fee.
What's great about it: I appreciated the step by step instructions and status of both my returns (refund and taxes due).
What's not so great: It was difficult for me to "print" hard copies when I wanted.

difficult to make changes, Also can not go to return and change number. Foreign tax credit entry of income associated with dividend does not work for more than one country. No need to enter this anyway if under 300. On 1099r a box is automatically checked that makes it an ira distribution rather than pension Biggest problem is not having a way to do a what if for current year options for filing or a way to do a what if for the next year by copying this years data and then modifying to see if I need to file estimated taxes
