Absolutely loved being able to download my w-2 and stock and share information.
What's great about it: Easy to fill out as always
What's not so great: Sometimes had to look up detailed explanations of what was missing.

Turbo Tax Premier

I have been a TT Deluxe user for as long as I can remember. I decided to try Premier for my mother's taxes. It was a breeze. It stepped me through all over her 1099-B, 1099-DIV, 1099-INT and sch K-1 forms. It stepped me through all of her deductions and pointed things to looked at in the Review. I also learned more about taxes and saved some money by not going to a CPA. Great product!
What's great about it: Very easy to use

There are many good things. Some bad things too. The need to enter all your data multiple times in seperate files to analyze manually how to file when married is a major detractor. The sometimes clunky design doesn't help if you know what you are trying to do and you are forced to answer questions again to just double check data. I wish they had a pro mode.
What's great about it: Cheaper than paying a CPA
What's not so great: Can't analyze if filling jointly or separately

Turbotax made Returns filing surprisingly simple!

Loved my first time tax return filing. I cannot believe it could be so user friendly and straight forward. Your application makes the right checks and very well developed.

State Return Process Needs Impovement

I prepared my son's federal and MI state return. When I went to prepare my return I could not get rid of the MI return. I live in a state with no income tax and I don't have any MI income. There should be an option to delete previously downloaded state returns from subsequent returns.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions for MI
What's not so great: Couldn't get rid of state program used to prepare initial return

Confused Printing Choices

Each year I struggle with trying to determine what will happen when I select one of the options. If I elect to E-file the federal but want to file the state on paper, there is no good choice. Where is the Print to Paper option? Instead there is print to PDF and Print Preview. This section really needs work.
On the Form 1040 there is a Third Party Designee section where I indicate that my disabled daughter would prefer that the IRS talk with me if there are questions. To enter data here requires an over-ride, but doing so prevents the return from being E-filed. Nothing in this section has any impact on the numbers in the return and should not disqualify the return from being filed electronically.
What's great about it: Generally thorough coverage of topics
What's not so great: The final printing section is confusing and nonintuitive.
