It is a good return package and I shall use it next year.

overall I am happy using Turbo-tax, just a little nervous about some of the hacking and security issues that I've heard about.
What's great about it: fairly simple to use
What's not so great: sometimes corrections on complicated issues were a little difficult

Maximizing deductions

Need to screen/add a prompt for inclusion of State & Local Taxes (specific or table).
I caught that I had missed a $700+ deduction in my final review.

I have rental property, and am a resident in 2 states...love turbo tax for pulling all necessary info into appropriate filing forms by answering questions.
What's great about it: easy walk-thru questions
What's not so great: Couldn't get state to finish with mock federal return changing to MFS

Step by step - hope they fix the 'downsize'

I do appreciate the easy to follow instructions and the ease of filing - also the accuracy check.
It is now filled with advertising for additional services. I like many, were disappointed in the 'downsize' they did this year that you had to purchase a more expensive package to cover.
What's great about it: Step by step - it was easy to follow along.
What's not so great: They 'downsized' this year...I had to upgrade to cover my tax needs.

This was the first time I have prepared a US Tax Return myself having moved from the UK. TurboTax Premier made it very easy and the explanations and help were excellent.

I have seen improvements each year in the step by step guided process needed for completion of the tax forms. TurboTax guides a non finance person through the process, so long as you keep your receipts and back up materials. I am please to find the in-depth Q&A section on what others have asked or found to be best practice in completing a section. Bravo, for making a difficult job tolerable.
What's great about it: Step by Step Instructions, with needed information boxes to explain
What's not so great: Sometimes you need prior year info and it would be good to know before completion of section

Pulled in all needed information from critical banks. Excellent question process. Handled state sales tax issues well.
