2014 Tax

The average user with limited investments transaction should not be required to purchase the more expensive version of Turbo tax. In the passed the delux version covered everything the average user needed. I can appreciate the need for ther premier version if one has extensive investment activity but you need to keep the delux version as it was.
What's great about it: Always accurate and correct. Easy to use. Guide through the entire process is very helpful and gives the user a high
What's not so great: Requiring the use of the premier version because someone has investments is troubling and a big diappointment.

Great until the Payment Voucher's Don't Print

The software works as advertised until the point of printing payment vouchers. Every attempt ends up printing all zeros, despite the actual numbers appearing on screen. Extremely frustrating and time consuming
What's great about it: Good and Easy to follow
What's not so great: Payment Vouchers print all zeros

Quick and Easy

Intuit almost really blew it with the way they tried to force people who have used the Deluxe version for years to have to go up to the Premier edition. They ended up doing the right thing, after lots of pushback, but I hope we don't go through this again next year. As it is, Turbo Tax is the easiest and most accurate way to do our taxes.
What's great about it: Easy to use, quick to get it done, good verification
What's not so great: Sometimes glosses over complex issues

Experience not very good!

I've always used the basic version, but this year decided to upgrade to the deluxe only to find out later it was not as good as the basic. Before, I was able to handle rental property and include K1 income .It wasn't long in the process, I needed to upgrade again to premier. What a money grab!!. Next year I will investigate other software. Sad, I've used TT for more than 25 years, but after this year's experience I'm looking elsewhere.

Always easy

I have been using Turbo Tax since 2008. Each year the program improves in terms of stability, ease of use and thoroughness. I am able to tackle investment information with ease and the downloads from Fidelity and Vanguard make things simple.
What's great about it: Strong guidance and explanations
What's not so great: Updates are occasionally slow to load

Great Program

I had a great experience with Turbo Tax, yet again. This year I moved for work, bought a house, and had complicated passive business income, but Turbo Tax made everything so easy. They even upgraded me to Premier half-way through my filing at no charge and with no loss of the data I'd already inputed. I will definitely be using this program next year.
What's great about it: Easy to determine partial-year implications, multiple state returns
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

software needs to be more intuitive in interview questions based on my turbo tax history from last years return.
to many times i had to go to IRS.gov to get an answer, that really was not that complex or unusual of a question.
going to specific tax forms from interview screens was not very easy.
been using product for over 15 years and the quality of software in handling my tax situation effectively seems to get worse each year, and i don't really have that complex of a tax situation.
What's great about it: i have used for over 15 years - so transfer from prior year is nice
What's not so great: help in software gets worse each year. interview questions seems to miss key areas based on my prior history.

Although I have used Turbo Tax for many years now, I have mixed feelings about it this year. I have run into more issues this year than ever before. I ran into problems getting my state e-file request to move to the credit card step, and it just kept throwing me back to the previous screen. The deluxe vs premier version issue and price will also weigh into my decision to continue with Turbo Tax next year or move to another option. As of this point I have e-filed my federal taxes but am still unable to e-file state.
What's great about it: Easy to enter data, carryover of info from last year
What's not so great: difficulty filing state return, little support help
