Capital Gains

I was really disappointed when I bought TurboTax only to discover that I need Premier this year to deal with Cap Gains. You did right by giving the free upgrade.
If Cap Gains are not included next year in the Deluxe version, I am likely to use a competitor.

Almost there

I had a number of sales of mutual funds which generated numerous entries for reporting short/long term gains. When the errors check came up it identified an error in one of the fields but not the specific classification. I needed trial and error to finally locate the field causing the error report.
What's great about it: Handles most of my needs without confusion
What's not so great: Hard to follow the process for an ISO when you have a W-2 and a 1099B
Pros: I bought or sold investments

We have used Turbo Tax all but ONE year for the past 20 years! I have found Turbo Tax to be a very user-friendly and educational tax tool and find it;s interview-type approach quite helpful for items I may not be as familar with as other items. For areas where I am confident, I am able to go directly to the areas I want to work on. When there is a question, I can go directly to a link within TurboTax to the additional tax guidance on the subject! More people need to trust themselves to prepare their taxes with TurboTax!
Unless you have a very high dollar, detailed tax situation where a licensed tax professional is needed, TurboTax provides A+ tax preparation capability!!!!
What's great about it: Love the links to more detailed info.; detailed handling of HSA acct. items
What's not so great: Would not be useful for a VERY complicated return

TurboTax did not pickup my City withholding

Overall happy with TurboTax. However, I imported my W2 from ADP. The City withholding was not entered on my city return. My city return printed with NO withholding. So, I had to manually correct my city return. This was not fun.
What's great about it: quick and easy to enter
What's not so great: Did not pick up City withholding from W2

Still the best for me

Since I tend to keep my tax supporting documents in order through the year, I can use TurboTax and get the filing done in (usually) one day. It guides me to the points I need and generally gets all of the data right. It even catches omissions in forms imported from the financial institutions.
My only real objection is that I need the Premium package even though my taxes are relatively simple, since I do trade stocks and other securities. It's a lot of extra $$$ just for that one extra capability.
What's great about it: Touches on all of me tax needs (except paying taxes)
What's not so great: Getting too expensive

You have several places related to option exercises where you totally screwed up this year. You made the fields 4-decimal, and limited the total field, with the result being that you can't enter (in form 3921 for example) more than 99,999 options. That's really stupid, as lots of people exercise/sell more options than that.
It's a total bug and I'm really unimpressed that it wasn't fixed. What else are the updates for other than to fix obvious bugs? I can't wait anymore, but this was by far the most lame TT thing I've seen in many years.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I HAD TO PRINT MY RETURNS FOR MAILING BECAUSE YOUR PROGRAM KEPT INSISTING THAT IT COULD NOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET. YET I KNOW THAT MY INTERNET CONNECTION WAS SOLID AND THE PROGRAM HAD SEVERAL TIMES DOWNLOADED UPDATES.
What's great about it: OVEWRALL VERY HELPFUL
