1) Fortunately I knew to look for the foreign tax credit from past versions of TTax. It did not give me those dialogs/options the first time through. Once I found how to trigger it, it save me a LOT in taxes. 2) Having to upgrade to Premier when I have used Deluxe for years in the past was frustrating, time consuming.
After using TTax for over 10 years, I was frustrated enough that I may look for other software next year. I need my tax software to be reliable, consistent, accurate.
What's great about it: TurboTax Deluxe 2013 was excellent. 2014 was NOT.
What's not so great: 2014 did NOT prompt me for a foreign tax credit. Having to upgrade.

Good Job

I've used Turbo Tax for 8 years and feel confident to keep using it going forward.
What's great about it: Easy to use. Interview is pretty detailed.
What's not so great: Investments were confusing. I thought there would be a number to call for help but could never find that number
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Life made easier

It made it possible for me to transfer my K-1 data with much less hassle.
What's great about it: Easy steps to follow
What's not so great: I difficulty in locating where to have refund applied to estimated taxes

A Helpful Tool

I will continue to use Turbo Tax for my future tax filing. Thank you Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: Turbo tax bought up a lot of deductions I would have never thought of. My refund is larefer because of this!
What's not so great: There were alot of questions to answer because of the chairities.

Needed a lot of double checking

TurboTax worked well, importing from my Quicken data and from brokerage accounts. Unfortunately, it did a poor job with some items that ended up included twice. That cost several hours of scrubbing through the data before it was correct. I ended up having to delete the imports, then do them all again, and still had to re-do a lot of the manual work. It should be much easier to see and edit the data that gets imported.
What's great about it: Imported data to save a lot of work
What's not so great: Difficult to find problems with import

I have used Turbo-Tax for two decades & the program has always been a pleasure to use. The forms are easy to complete & saving a PDF file makes retrieval easy. The help function has never let me down. I'm a continuing & satisfied user.
What's great about it: Easy transfer of previous year's data. Easy updates, filing, calulations of complicated forms and transfer to State Tax.
What's not so great: None.
