another easy file but with a surprise

The surprise this year was that Intuit did not include capital gains (losses) forms in the deluxe version as they have in the past. They did allow a free upgrade to cover their shortcoming. I do hope this is not a sign of selective item deleting in order to charge for the more expensive premium version!.
What's great about it: again easy to use

It is good tax-software, I have been using the deluxe for over 10 years.
This year the Deluxe version has removed the sch-d.
I have to buy the premium version. I hope you restore it to the deluxe version. I was hesitating to continue using TurboTax or go to some other software.

I have used TurboTax for many years and would not think of doing my taxes without it. Very worth the money!
What's great about it: walks you through step by step
What's not so great: can be confusing if you have an error, and very hard to understand what to fix
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Working with K-1 was a PAIN

The 2014 TurboTax was extremely difficult to work with on entering K-1 information. The system didn't allow for simple input of line 13 T and line 20 Z information. Referral to tax code information also didn't help. It was less complicated in 2013, my memory says. This year it took several hours to work with ONE K-1 form. Hated it.

The Best Tax Software

Been using Turbo Tax for years. The software is easy to use, complete and accurate. Simply love it.
What's great about it: Easy to navigate. Covers all topic in a logical manner
What's not so great: For Foreign Tax credit, the software needs to atomatically place the forms in the required sequence
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

So Easy

I've been using Turbo Tax for years. Each year it gets faster and better. Easy to understand what data goes where because it asks simple questions. Forget the CPA, you don't need them.
What's great about it: Fast and easy to enter data in the right place
What's not so great: The startup screen is a bit dull
