Mostly Great but....

Have been using TurboTax for years and overall it's very easy to do taxes. On occasion, however, I find it very frustrating. Three things this year bugged me. First was the was Intuit removed forms requiring users to upgrade to do the same function they've always had at a specific level of TT. My second issue this year was more specific. I needed to enter capital gains/losses from the sale of a piece of vacant land. Even after reviewing several responses from the TT team and users in the help area, I couldn't get it to work properly as TT was forcing me to the wrong form. After several attempts and shout outs to users, one person was able to help me. It should have been more intuitive. My third issue is that I need to file an Injured Spouse form 8379. TT required me to enter responses to the innocent Spouse form first and sent me down the wrong path. I then had to force entry of the 8379 and delete the Innocent Spouse form.
What's great about it: usually easy to enter info
What's not so great: Determining where to enter gains/losses on land sale very difficulit

I am upset that I had to upgrade to Premier to enter a small amount of Schedule K income. While it was free this year, if it is required for 2015, I will use other more cost effective software. I have been using TurboTax Deluxe and Quicken Deluxe since the late 1980's
What's great about it: No difficulty preparing taxes - simple to use
What's not so great: Needed to upgrate for one income line

2014 Federal Review

The program was relatively easy to use with pretty good descriptions of the items in each section. The pricing for the State return and filing is too high so I didn't use your services for the state.
What's great about it: Easy to follow, good explanations of section info
What's not so great: Est. taxes access not clear. Had to answer no to W4 question to get to Estimated Taxes calculation.

The input for Capital improvements on rental properties was not as clear as it could have been. In the interview they should have had a clearer category for capital improvements such as roofs, windows etc. rather then just using real estate property category class to enter the asset.
The program was nice in that it imported and inserted the accelerated depreciation exemptions into my State form. Taxact would always say I had claimed the accelerated depreciation and Indiana did not allow that but would not add it back in. I always had to go back and plough through the federal forms and manually add them back in on my State.
What's great about it: Good import of data and State filing integration
What's not so great: Rental Section a bit lacking

In the income and deduction sections, It is irritating to have to scroll to the bottom of the screen to get to the next section. Please make it easier to move from section to section without the need to scroll with the mouse or use the down arrow to get to the next section. Thanks
What's great about it: I have always liked TurboTax
What's not so great: one thing irritates me as I am using it
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Overall a good product and easy to use. The foreign tax credit/deductions from mutual funds can be confusing because I never use this.
What's great about it: Transfer W-2's, stock and mutual fund information directly to tax return
What's not so great: Foreign tax credits/deductions are difficult to follow
Pros: I bought or sold investments
