Double charged me

Your product stated that I get one free state return included in the initial purchase price of your product but then required that I pay again before submitting my state return. I will try a competitor next year and if all goes smoothly will stick with the competitors product.
What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: Double charged me for first/single state return

Investment income

There were no problems entering known information, entry of simple W-2's and 1099's was very easy. For more complicated 1099's it was much easier to download the data directly from the financial institution. This is where problems occurred: for any tax exempt income the state in which the income was earned was required and in every case was left blank in the download. Also there were numerous instances of missing interest that were actually supposed to be zero but were left blank. I am not sure where the problem exists but it is between TurboTax and the financial institution. On the first review I had over 100 errors/omissions that needed to be corrected and all but 29 were corrected when I located the state of origin.. At first this seemed to be very difficult but after scrolling around the form I found info that helped identify the income in question. All of this concerned bond investments which were tax free for the federal return but some were taxed at the state return. Once the 34 state codes involved were entered most of the 100+ problems were resolved but 29 remained that were the instances were a zero should have been included but was left blank. Had it not been for these problems the completion of my tax forms would have been very easy. Everything else went exactly as it should and once the errors involving the bonds were corrected the completion of the process was accomplished in a short time and the forms were filed with the state and federal agencies without delay.
What's great about it: Entering information could not be easier, questions asked while entering data are straightforward easy to understand.
What's not so great: When there are errors or omission during review it is hard to identify what is needed.

Great for people with basic returns. I am a high volume stock trader and getting information on certain stock situations was difficult. I would like questions answered by a knowledgeable person in the product not thrown out to the user community at large.
What's great about it: auto download of W2's
What's not so great: getting specific detailed help
Pros: I bought or sold investments

2014 Issues

In the past, I used Turbo Tax Deluxe. This year I purchased Deluxe as usual and proceeded to enter my 2014 deductions.and imported all my info from 2013. Then I received your email notifying me that Deluxe no longer supported my investments. I then traded my Deluxe version plus cash for a Premier version. After that bit of confusion I proceeded to my income data.
Things went smoothly until I began the K-1 data entry - I expected that the more expensive Premier version would make the K-1 entry process more user friendly. However, I've come to the conclusion that the people who create K-1's, the programers at TurboTax and more importantly me do not have a clue! Problems that were high lighted by TurboTax at the end would have been much easier to correct during the input stage.
Finally, after moving to Premier I uninstalled Deluxe. I was pleasantly surprised to find my initial deduction entries were imported into Premier. When I tried to enter my state info, I seemed to enter an endless loop (no error statement) wherein the program looked for state updates and then returned to the start of state return. I finally found the problem via your help page - it seems that uninstalling Deluxe was not enough because I left the Deluxe Program in my Program Files. The Premier program seems to have recognized the state program in Deluxe and decided I did not need 2 of them. Since you created the problem by changing the Deluxe/Premier relationship you could have notified users via email.
This year I found taxes and Turbotax much more aggravating experience.
What's great about it: I finally filed 2014 taxes
What's not so great: Not as user friendly as in previous 10 or more years
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I have been using TurboTax since 1981, DOS version. I have not been audited using their program. Several years I have had to use an Accountant because of investments but I have never regretted using TurboTax for my personal returns.
What's great about it: quick and easy... no hassle filing
What's not so great: Cost
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
