I have been a big fan of TT and have used it for over 15 years without fail, and fortunately without mistake.
I struggled a bit with the IRA section this year as it related to a 1099R distribution as a result of a TIRA to Roth conversion in 2014.
The underlying challenge was that there were no checks and balances through the years on the TIRA basis. For example, in years where there was no IRA contribution, and then contributions both deductible and non-deductible, evidently the program did not record it, skipped it, or forgot it.
I suggest that a dialogue be created/added to ask the taxpayer if the TIRA basis is correct each year. Calculating tax on the distribution will be much easier.

I did find humor in the existing dialogue which mentions that "...most taxpayers do not track non-deductible contributions in prior years".

What's not so great: Some section dialogue selection required is not obvious
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

A couple of times product would not let me edit. I have not had a partnership I 3 -4 years. The product keeps attaching forms for a partnership.

Until I needed TT to deal with my K-1s, I was entirely satisfied with the product. However, I have to enter data for 6 separate L.Ps, and when TT says it will lead me by the hand to manually enter data that it does not enter automatically, it is not so. Also, many step-by-step data entry boxes are for information that is not provided on or with my K-1s. I'm really concerned if I've properly dealt with these issues.
What's great about it: Easy if income is from 1099s, W2s
What's not so great: Inadequate handling of K-1s, state return still requires manual calculations

very easy to file

I like using Turbo Tax you can switch back and forth between the guided process and the forms section to see exactly how your doing line by line on the 1040 and other schedules.
What's great about it: easy step by step guidance
What's not so great: no cons, very simple, very straight forward makes it very easy to file

Where is (return of principal)

form 8949 does not seem to recognize (return of principal) as an item, therefore, neither does Turbotax.
When I save an incomplete return, and later try to restart where I left off I cannot find the saved file, It opens up a new file even though the saved file is still there,somewhere. this parameter needs better definition!

Does the job

I have been using TurboTax for 15 years. It has improved a lot since the beginning. Not crazy about the format for Boxes 13 and 17 on the K1s. Wish there was a worksheet for calculating mileage, parking, and medical fees for doctor visits.
The best part is the ability to import data from my banks and stock brokers.
What's great about it: The hardest part of taxes is getting the info in one place.
What's not so great: It would be nice to have a worksheet for calculating mileage and parking for medical appts.

We loved Turbo,it is the best. Please bring back the superuser "Inner Circle Group" back. Turbotax missing on the good feedback from millions of people like myself. Some of the expenses like Medicare B premium subtracted from Social Security, when entered in already, Turbotax does not auto carry them to the State level. So the state I live in KY Medicare B prem is deductable. Question at the state level to us was what is the medical premiums paid, it should have said, either of two below. Medical Premiums excluding Medicare B Premium [since already knows that]. Just a small example, or should have asked Total Med Premiums including Medicare B premiums, so we know exactly what to enter. I hope this helps, PLEASE KEEP IN TOUCH .
What's great about it: Precise, easy to use, easy to debug
What's not so great: Some of the questions should be more precise ,definitive, clear

Did fine when entering information, but ran into problems when trying to print what I need to send to IRS plus my copy.
Was not conversant with the terminology on the screen. Was finally able to print it out but don't know how I did it. Have been using Turbo Tax for years and this is the first time I had a problem. Other than the printing problem and a slight one doing a K-1, all went well.
