TurboTax is a pure blessing as the tax code is a horrible jungle. It offers so much to simplify the process to the maximum possible. One thing that would be helpful is a guide on how to get to all the help there is. For instance, when went to Form to make corrections, had forgotten how to get back to the TurboTax proper (poked here and there and finally got it.) i.e. if there is a button to be pushed, a diagram perhaps on what it would do.
What's great about it: Improvements year after year
What's not so great: Getting answers more time consuming than in past as community rarely had the answer to my particular question so had to

Was Better Before

Having used Turbotax over 7 years, I found the premier version necessary to do what the deluxe version used to do. This year some of the tax areas like college credits and self employment insurance were much less straight forward. I realize the tax laws continue to change but there should be a way to start with everything but the actual dollar figures carry over from last year. if I have filed the same form 3 years in a row this year should at least ask if I still need to file it instead of me figuring that out at the summary.
I have always rated 5 stars in the past, but the software seems to be getting less user friendly. I guess this is why several of my friends have switched to a competitor.
What's great about it: Ultimately got it done
What's not so great: More difficult to find the ways to put in some information and specific help questions were not well answered

Good product, could use more fluid navigation

Overall great. Only focusing on the points of improvement:
- I could only import 1 Computershare account - each new one overwrote the previous (My wife and I work for the same company, thus having similar benefits/investments in separate accounts - functionality should be given to multiple accounts from a single souce
- the program feels choppy in the sense that if I want to go back to review one response from earlier in the return I may have to repeat a spectrum of inputs/questions for one item
- (May just be my laptop screen - and sound petty) It would be great if "Continue" and "Back" buttons are additionally available higher on the screen for input pages - one nearly every input screen the buttons were just of screen

Long time TurboTax user

I have used TurboTax since 1994 and it continues to get better every year. There are a few rare events (ie. excess withholding on 401k and museum membership) which have caused me problems in the past, but I continue to choose TurboTax every year because it does a great job.
What's great about it: Good job of guiding through the tax items even if it seems out of sequence (rental property).
What's not so great: Some dedutions are not identified as far as where to include them(museum membership).

Highway Robbery

I felt like I was held for ransom this year by TurboTax. The cost of the product tripled - and I had to keep upgrading because all the standard features are no longer included in the regular TurboTax package. I'll be checking out other Tax Preparation software next year. This was a horrible experience! There are not really words to describe my disgust and disappointment.

TurboTax Gets Worse Every Year

Turbo Tax was a pretty good program, and I could follow along with the 1040 and other forms, but you are losing lock on reality.
Also, a few things that were simple last year became more difficult.
Oh yeah, you tried to get greedy by not including as much in your Deluxe Edition, trying to force people to buy the Premier Edition. That just irritates people and makes them look for other options. Don't you make enough money off us?
What's great about it: Its deductible is a good tool
What's not so great: Less intuituve, less guided by the actual forms
