Cost too high

I've been using Turbo Tax for years. The product is decent but the cost is now too high. For the price, they should at least provide one free state e-file. Will look at the competition next year. Miss the built-in calculator.

It,s All There!

I have used Turbo Tax since 1997 mostly without problems except for RRB in the earlier years, it does well now. However the years are catching up with me now and I'll be turning over the job to my CPA for 2015. Thanks for making tax time tolerable for all these years. We retirees need extra help to remember all the little things that need to be tracked as returns continue to get more complex and as life changes occur.

What's great about it: Retained data from year to year; Compehensive!!
What's not so great: Had problem with form 8606, had to go to forms to enter last years basis.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Easier every year!

I did not find the credit for the working poor sections on state, so I did not receive those credits that I am aware. Was automatic last year, I believe. Would have made a difference of over $200 in my returns. Did not realize til I had filed. :( My have missed that spot...??
What's great about it: Much easier than 2013
What's not so great: Don't like that extra e-filing charge for state-too cumbersome

NY State return does not print out except for summary page. Nor does the NY State return get saved as a PDF. Only record of NY State is in preparer's tax file.

2014 Turbo Tax review

This software is easy to use, except when it comes to printing for mailing the return (which I prefer) & printing a copy for my file. Please improve the ease of this process!

Always easy to use!

I've used Turbo Tax for more than a decade, and it always seems to get better. As an Accountant myself, I appreciate that I can skip lengthy explanations that I don't need, but that they are there for those who need them. Initially I was nervous about e-filing, but after using this feature for several years I have come to love it! It was irritating that Intuit changed their software so that many of us needed to upgrade to the Premier version, but they responded quickly to the outcry and moved to make things right which was the responsible thing to do. A great program!
What's great about it: I like that the program gives users the option of only accessing areas that they know they need.
What's not so great: The mixup this year where many of us were required to upgrade our software.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo tax worked better this year

Still hard to move about. Had difficult time after taxes done but needed to set refund options. Have used turbo tax for many years and could not comprehend doing taxes without it.

good step by step process. what I liked best was online support it was outtanding. the staff on phone was the best in solving problems.
