Program did not ask if my condo rental had changed during the step by step. After I saw 26 errors I knew it had needed an update in that section as well as the self employed section.
I was able to delete the forms and make the correct update

Awesome Return...due to Turbo Tax

Using Turbo Tax has been simple. Once we had everything gathered, it was fill in the blank!
What's great about it: Easy...walked me right through it
What's not so great: Didn't catch a percentage use error (in my favor)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Excellent tax filing product.

I have been using turbo tax to file my taxes for more than a decade now. One year, I hired a tax accountant to handle my tax filings. He couldn't do a better, more thorough job than I could do myself with turbotax, despite his special tax software. So I took back from him, and never looked back.
What's great about it: Intuitive. Remember my tax filing situation. Easy to navigate
What's not so great: Should explain the calculations behind the scene more, so we can all learn while filing taxes

Long Time Turbo Tax User

Turbo Tax is a great way to file taxes. It is easy to use and remembers my tax situation from year to year. So, it is easy to compare this year to last year details and make sure I am claiming the same items. The process is step by step and easy to follow. Turbo Tax opens right to where I left off if I have to close the application and come back to continue at a later date. This was my 12 year using Turbo Tax to file both federal and state taxes.
What's great about it: Convenience of doing my taxes at home when I want to
What's not so great: Many questions do not apply to my tax situation.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I'm done, but I may be really done with TurboTax

Unless the program goes back to the previous upgrade structure, I will be moving on to another program next year. The price increase that will be required for one part of my return that will no longer be covered with the Deluxe version is not worth it.
What's great about it: I'm familiar with the program after using it for several years
What's not so great: Differences in Deluxe vs upgraded versions

Feel Confident!!

We spoke with our Investment Advisor with Wells Fargo Bank as to whether we should go to a CPA to have our taxes done for the 2014 tax year as my husband was adamant in wanting to continue using TurboTax and I was hesitant. We had some adjustments to our brokerage account and bought a home in 2014. He did not hesitate to give us his thought and the fact that he uses it for himself and family members. Filing 2014 tax year we continued using TurboTax Deluxe and again, the ease of walking us through made for a stressless effort to file once again. Continuing our confidence in Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Walks thru step-by-step, can go back to previous page without any problem.
What's not so great: None

TurboTax hasn't improved in 10 years

TurboTax has not improved in 10 years. The interview process it uses are exactly the same as they were 10 years ago. The claim that it leads you through all the steps you need is a bit overblown since more than once I was lead to a dead-end that asked me questions about last year's return (which is immediately available since I imported last years taxes) or questions that I ignored because they were so concise and/or complicated that I had no idea how to respond. The "help" for many of these questions is ridiculously insufficient. Often the "help" refers to specific text in the IRS documents which has no context unless you read the entire IRS document.
Then there the portions of the interview that kept asking the same question over and over again. Or that might have been page after page of "continue", "continue", and "continue" again.
Mostly, Turbotax is "good enough", but the price I paid for the software and all the additional services is quickly approaching the cost of a professional tax preparer.
What's great about it: I was able to suffer through the program by myself and I believe I answered the questions correctly
What's not so great: The interview hasn't changed in over 10 years. It should be better by now.
