Easy on Me!

Turbo Tax takes you through every section of the return and explains what you are to do there. Terms used are highlighted so you can click on them and get a full explanation of what you are doing on that page or deciding about in that area. I really love the way they fill in a lot of my information for me when I have used their program before. I also love the way they show me what I had last year as compared with this year because it lets me think about why they are the same or different and so makes me more confident that my numbers this year are correct--or, alerts me to check my numbers for an error. I also appreciate the way they let me know if I have any red flags for audit. I've tried other programs, but Turbo Tax is the best in my opinion!
What's great about it: Offers all options and explains them so you can decide what to do.
What's not so great: Constant updates make me nervous that something I've already done is not correct anymore.

About As Easy As It Gets To Not Pay Taxes

I have used Turbo Tax for several years and never regretted that choice. I have been reluctant to change to another tax program because it has worked so well. TT program improvements have been anticipatory to the law and subsequent user's need to understand how they apply to their situation. Just transferring personal information from year to year is a simple convenience. Having that when you move and must file in two states is a joy. As finances change with life, Turbo Tax has the tool to incorporate those figures into tax reporting seamlessly. I haven't been disappointed yet.

What's great about it: Thorough, Painless, Intuitive Process. A Trusted Tool.
What's not so great: Little glitch when I updated to the Premium version, Free State e-file was deleted. A call fixed it.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved, I bought or sold investments

What a Relief!

TurboTax gives me the opportunity to do my own taxes which gives me a better overview of not only my own total financial situation, but a better knowledge of our current tax laws..
What's great about it: Simplicity, Easy Directions, Thoroughness

This was the first time I used any tax software. It was pretty easy. Required a lot of detail that I shouldn't have to provide in the future if, as I understand it, much of what I did is now on your system and should fill in many of the blanks for 2015.
What's great about it: Simple.
What's not so great: Had to get Premier to include info on simple house sale

- over the past years, Schedule K-1 has been part of your Deluxe software; nothing on your packaging stated that this form required your Premium software; if the same thing happens next year and I must purchase your Premium software for just one form I will probably switch to another software manufacturer or a professional to complete my taxes; I DON'T LIKE DECEIT
- please allow printing of some of your screens, i.e. "Your Returns Have Been Sent", confirmation of the state e-file payment, and screens that provide confirmation; THIS IS MY FOURTH YEAR MAKING THIS REQUEST; Microsoft WORD Print Screen had to be used every year and the quality is poor

If the deluxe addition for 2015 does not contain sch. D, C and E, I will purchase a different program. Who's bright idea was it to not offer these for 2014? Thanks for back peddling and getting these sch. on 2014. You will loose me as a customer of your products if you make changes.

Some hiccups

This is the ninth or tenth time I've used Turbo Tax (T/T). I picked up last year's data, bank account, etc. without any problem. At the end I could not get T/T to debit my bank account to pay what I owed to the Feds. I had to use my credit card. No big deal but I was disappointed as I had completed my bank account info earlier but not given a chance to use that option. I did get a message to upgrade my browser which I did by removing Google Chrome but then was prompted to reinstall Google Chrome. I was stumped so I paid via credit card. All is well that ends well but still.....
What's great about it: Pulled last year's data up without a problem
What's not so great: Didn't like my browser.
