Could not find a method of itemizing capital loss from a muni bond that was called. Kept asking for a code that was not available.
What's great about it: charitable deduction tables were good
What's not so great: capital gains section is missing information

We have used Turbo Tax for several years and think it's terrific. Our taxes are somewhat complex, but this gives us confidence that everything is in order.
What's great about it: Makes a fairly complicated filing as simple as filling in the boxes.

What is going on?

My federal form for 2014 seems to have disappeared. I efiled it and my state return and both were accepted. I also printed them and that is fine. Now I need to amend the federal form and the state form because somehow my investment costs were entered three times. That changes the amount due and I need to amend the forms to show that change and somehow my federal form seems to be missing I probably won't use Turbotax next year. I have used it for about 15+ years now.
What's great about it: walking through was fairly easy
What's not so great: not seeing where my data was going, was not helpful. finding a way to amend my return comes up with only my state form.

What's great about it: can print, pick up where left off etc.
What's not so great: not clear how to do stock splits, sell offs, etc.

Great Program

I have used Turbo Tax for many, many years. I have always felt confident in my returns when using this program. I have used the Premier version for the last few years, and it handles all aspects of rental property, as well as stock and bonds. Very easy to follow and very thorough. I have thought about switching to a less expensive software in the past, but why take the risk, when you know you have a good thing.
What's great about it: Easy to follow. Makes sure you get all your deductions.
What's not so great: A little expensive for Premier and above

Turbo Tax Critique

I encountered problems with self entering investment sales.
Eventually worked thru using the tour instead of forms.
What's great about it: Liked using e-file
What's not so great: Difficult to mix forms with tour guide

Still my tool for Tax-Time!

There was a big fall-out as Intuit changed what Deluxe could handle or not. I had one minor feature which included carrying capital losses from prior years over to cover capital gains from this year - and that one feature required me to upgrade to Premium. Normally that would be a costly upgrade - but due to all the backlash over the change, Intuit provided the upgrade for free. I didn't use any other features - so glad they included the free upgrade... but concerned for fugureA
What's great about it: Complete support for all my tax entries
What's not so great: A bit confusing this year with the change in Premier
