Each year there are more and more questions unanswered by TurboTax. This is probably the last year I will use TurboTax.
What's not so great: TurboTax becomming increasingly difficult to use.

Been using TT exclusively for business and personal for more then ten years, I have always felt confident when done but this year left out a lot of last years info and the detail didn't seem to be there, perhaps some thought it to detailed and I guess you cant please all 100% of the time, I still plan on using again next year.
What's great about it: medical was easy
What's not so great: lacked detail questions as in the past
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Simple and Fast to Do
on March 23, 2015

Return is simple to follow and quick to do. Minimal jargon. I made one glaring entry mistake on medical costs (put in 11,000 instead of 1,000 for "eyeglasses") which I caught when I reviewed it. Not sure if the program would have caught it. Could give more examples on valid medical expenses and listing medical products/supplies. Valuing non-cash donations was easy to compute.
What's great about it: Easy to understand and good explanations where needed
What's not so great: Cost is rising too fast year over year
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Generally Good

Overall the program worked well. I believe that the change in the Deluxe Program for 2014 which required using Premier to do some of the investment calculations that Deluxe did before was no help to me, only generated more income to the company. Previous years Deluxe program delivered all I needed, didn't see any benefit to using Premier except now forced to use it.
What's great about it: Imported prior information so it didn't need to be reentered manually.
What's not so great: Making adjustments to K-1 data didn't work, needed to do manually

Obamacare Glitch
on March 23, 2015

I will have to file an amended return because there was nothing that stopped me from filing my original return - even though I had checked (in the Interview Mode) that I would fill in the Obamacare information later. There should have been an Error Report Stop Warning for that information not being filled in when I checked the Yes Box that we had medical insurance through Healthcare.gov., and the return should have not been able to be e-filed until those screens were completed.
I still have not received my 1095-A forms from the government, but after calling them 5 times, I got the information that is needed to fill in the Obamacare screens in Turbo Tax. My amended return has to be mailed (it can't be e-filed# so this will delay my refund by "16 to 20 weeks" according to the government website.
Had the programming been complete to begin with, and stopped me from e-filing my return until the Obamacare information screens were completed, my refund would probably be in the bank by next week #the first of April). Now, it will be 4 to 5 MONTHS until the refund is in the bank. I Am Not A Happy Camper!
What's great about it: Screwed up my return refund by 16 to 18 weeks
What's not so great: Programming error - no stop if Obamacare info not filed in.

Still good

Two problems:
You made changes so I had to buy Premium in order to use part of my carryover of capital gains. (I don't need it for any other purpose. I have no other capital gains.) I appreciate that Turbo tax admitted it made a mistake and will give us a credit and change the software next year.
Last year and this year the software wouldn't let me input the amount I paid for turbo tax on Schedule B line 22 (tax prep fees).
What's great about it: The clarity of your explanations
What's not so great: You made changes so I had to buy Premium instead of Deluxe
