Finally Done!

I needed lots of help completing the investment section because I sold stocks. Unfortunately, I inherited them and the 1099-B did not give all of the information because of the age. I had a hard time figuring this part out. TurboTax really wasn't helpful in this regard. Everything else federal was good. I needed to file a state return to recoup withholding taxes because I no longer lived in the state. It took me 30 minutes to figure out how to complete the form.
What's great about it: Step by step with lots of opportunities to go back when needed.
What's not so great: State was not as easy as federal.

No so great this year.

Problems.
Entered numerous capital gain transactions. Some got bumped from D to E LT Gains. Couldn't use program to move. Had to reenter. People with similar problems had waited 29 days for response to inquiry. And still didn't have it.
Schedule K-1 had an entry on foreign interest expense allocation. Entered all data from K-1 but program was looking for a foreign source income allocation I did not have and it would not explain in more detail.
What's great about it: Speed/Complete
What's not so great: Program Issues

Well worth the Money!

For those of you that do your own tax preparations, then this is the software for you!
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions.
What's not so great: Does not give a check off list of what forms to file for both federal and state.

Confused by inadequate explanations during use.

When entering certain numbers into adds to income, the instructions were confusing which (initially) led me to entering incomes twice (in two different areas) leading me to get a result that said I owed EIGHT TIMES the taxes I actually owed. Several areas in This high priced version (premier) led to this same confusion factor...always due ti inadequate explanations of what should be entered (drop down menus still did notr alleviate the confusion).
What's great about it: Computerized software can be very useful
What's not so great: Many instructions in Premier were inadequate to easily understand the correct numbers to fill in.

It's time to file the taxes!

I have used a TurboTax since 2005! There is no better way to deal with this awful annual torture. Every year is easier than the last. I really like knowing that my private info is filed in my home office and never handled by a stranger before it reaches the IRS.
What's great about it: Easy to install, guides thru every step, free e-file, imports from previous year, save docs as PDFs
What's not so great: Have to file taxes

TURBO TAX PRIMIER FOR 2014

I HAVE USED TURBO TAX FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND HAVE FOUND IT ACCEPTABLY USER FRIENDLY. USING IT ONLY ONCE EACH YEAR AND BEING AGE 84 MAKES IT SOMETIMES CHALLENGING. THAT IS MY ISSUE, NOT TURBO TAX. I'LL CONTINUE USING THIS AS LONG AS I AM MENTALLY ABLE TO DO SO.
What's great about it: EASY TO USE - WITH MINIMUM OF ISSUES CAUSED BY MY LIMITED USE (ANNUAL) OF THE SOFTWARE
What's not so great: NONE OF SIGNIFICANCE
