I like that it systematically walks me through each step and that it imports the important items from the previous year.
What's great about it: I have used TurboTax for 10 years. I wouldn't use any other product.

Total Lifeline!

I have used Turbo Tax for over 15 years and frankly, I would be lost without it. I do not understand all the tax laws and ins and outs that IRS throws at us. Thank goodness Turbo Tax puts it all into a simple form that I can follow.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Seeing how much I owed everytime I entered data

Last years' version was easier. The search box was invisible --to me at least. (Windows XP) This made it difficult to get back to a particular form.
What's great about it: It does the math!
What's not so great: Particular form search difficult

For 1/10 of the price I paid to a tax consultant Turbo Tax gently lead me through all items in a detailed way. Last year we had a CPA do our taxes and I bought Turbo Tax and processed the information I had given the CPA. Both Turbo Tax and the CPA came up with identical return amounts. Way to Go...a No Brainer!!
What's great about it: Turbo Tax leads me through a detailed analysis of taxable items in a very understandable way

I have used TurboTax for many years. It remains backwards compatible for those of us that don't buy new computers every year. The friendly lead you through the process is just that. Usually any problems are where I answered a question wrong. The only problem I found this year was with the foreign tax on dividends. Program in friendly mode does not deal properly with dividends from more than one foreign country correctly. To get it to function I was forced to "go to forms" and figure it out there. I'm sure they will put attention on this flaw and I'll have a better experience next year.
What's great about it: almost everything
What's not so great: poor handling of foreign tax on dividends

Easy...but

I only needed a Schedule D for 2 small items, but had to upgrade in order to complete the return. I could have used white out to change figures, but it wasn't worth the effort. Not terribly happy about the extra charge.
Otherwise, good program.
What's great about it: easy
What's not so great: Over priced for one or two extra forms

Good for simple incomes

I have used Turbo Tax for years and this year, I bought the deluxe version because we had some rental income. Once I started entering my info I found that the program required that I upgrade to the premiere version to do the same things I had been able to do for years. Not happy with that.
What's great about it: Walk through step by step
What's not so great: Having to upgrade
