Good Product, have used it for years

What's great about it: Amazingly simple considering investment gains. Happy data can be uploaded automatically
What's not so great: Not so thrilled about having to pay all the additional fees due to the need for two states.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

simplify your taxes

I love this product and have been using it almost 20 years. Its very simple to use. Just have your documents ready and answer the questions. The first year takes a little more time because you have to do all the initial work but the next year it carries everything over for you. You just need to make the nescessary changes. I dont think it could get much easier than that! I highly recommend Turbo Tax to everyone!
What's great about it: Easy to use, just answer the questions
What's not so great: Had trouble getting rid of a self-employed business
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

It seemed like some of the info did not transfer from our previous
returns done on the Deluxe program. (re: IRA nondeductible contributions basis amount). It was also difficult to access the entry to make the manual correction.
I trust that we will not have to purchase the more expensive version next year to do our taxes.

What's great about it: Overall the program is user friendly and easy to follow.
What's not so great: The program did not transfer the info for my nondeductible IRA contributions as it has in the past years.

Very Thorough!

Overall, this is a great product. I have used Turbo Tax for the last 6 tax seasons and I believe that it's saved me money. Even if I end up having to pay taxes, like I have the last two years, it's saved me having to pay a tax professional or CPA.
The Premier version is very thorough and goes through all possible forms of income, deductions and credits. The only problem that I experienced this year was that I was unable to import any investment information like I was able to last year. I kept getting errors when I tried, so I manually entered, which took me longer to prepare my taxes this year. I would say it added about 45 minutes to my process.
What's great about it: Covers all forms of income, deductions and credits.
What's not so great: This year, I was unable to import any of my investment information. Kept getting errors.

Turbo tax makes doing my taxes maybe not easy, but doable. I have had my taxes done by others before, and they made mistakes. I don't trust anyone but me to do my taxes. Thank you for making additional information so easy and available throughout the process. I have used Turbo Tax for many years now, and I won't switch to another software product or tax preparer, no matter what the TV commercials promise!!
What's great about it: Love how I just answer questions
What's not so great: Can't think of anything.

Reasonably Good Results

Had issues with understanding AMT & Capital Gains alignment between 2 states. Also had issues connecting to a non-Standard brokerage which caused difficulties in entering stock option sales. Upon entering W-2 amounts and differences in 1099-MISC, I found the software did not appropriately tie the income to the correct state and had to edit the forms directly to have the correct number reported.
What's great about it: Stepped thur most items with no issue
What's not so great: Some unclear questions not answered
Pros: I bought or sold investments
