The disaster with the changes in deleted functions in turbo tax from last year is unacceptable. They corrected with a no charge upgrade. I will not buy it next year if they either raise the price or move the required investments functions to a higher level product. Also had trouble with other income functions being put on the wrong form. Overall very disappointed.l We'll see about next year???

Software Consistent Year to Year

I have been a turbo tax user since 1998 and I plan to continue to be a user in the future as well, as long as their product remains consistent and a value - including customer service when needed and upfront business sense when asked.
What's great about it: Consistency with the product and how it navigates...
What's not so great: State connection did not work....also, realized it was quite a bit more expensive due to forced product upgrade.

Bring back TT Deluxe with Capital Gains!!

I was very disappointed to be forced to purchase TT Premium just to be able to report capital gains. Bring back TT Deluxe with Capital Gains!!

In general, great program. Confused about entering my K-1 1065. Had problems understanding the language on some the errors/corrections at review time. Printing was a nightmare.
What's not so great: Preview/Printing
Pros: I moved, I bought or sold investments

TurboTax is still dependable

I've been using TurboTax since the 1990s. It's generally very easy to use and build's on last year's tax return so I don't have to reenter last year's data again.
This past year was the best yet. The last few years there was a problem with slowness with getting updates or even failure to get updates. This year, the update center worked flawlessly.
One minor feature improvement might be to allow me to clone a 1099 form (or similar). For instance, I received two 1099s from a credit union for an account closed in 2014 and a new account. I entered the data myself. It might have been nice if I could have "cloned" the first 1099 and then just changed the "clone" with the new info specific to the new 1099.
What's great about it: Easy to use and imported last year's info fine
What's not so great: Might be nice to be able to "clone" a 1099 to reduce entering data by hand
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Not being able to purchase online audit defense and efile for the state was inconvenient. I had to call in to get the ability to efile and purchase audit defense. Wait time was a decent amount but the customer service person on the phone was very nice and helpful.
What's great about it: Overall software was intuitive and easy to use
What's not so great: Software implied I needed to purchase a second state that I later realized was not needed. Inability to purchase online
